I'm really excited about this one.

I'd be willing to do a dyno for the set-up.. I already have your ART pipes and am completely stock besides that.

AlphaSnacks 08-30-2011 04:36 PM

PM sent, Tony.

Motordyne 08-30-2011 05:07 PM

For the moment we've got the NA covered. Now we need testing with forced induction.

We can always do more NA comparative testing later but for now we need development testing with forced induction.

brucelidat 08-30-2011 05:21 PM

So does that mean the NA exhaust system is pretty much completed?

Footloose301 08-30-2011 05:44 PM

Tony, can you give us a rough estimate on a sale date? 1-3 months? 4-6 months? 6+ months?

b1adesofcha0s 08-30-2011 07:06 PM

So excited! :excited:

Any chance G37 gets any goodies?

really looking forward to doing business.

Motordyne 08-31-2011 01:12 AM

~4 weeks.

There are a number of prototype variations built and going through a series of dyno mapping tests. This map is what forms the final design.

Then sound clips and a wide range of independent comparative dyno tests by forum members. With forced induction too. :)

PM me for a test fitment.

All I really need to know is if the exhaust system will have a catted option to go with the ART pipes. If so, an estimated date would be great and I would be eagerly awaiting the results. If not, then it's another exhaust system and HFCs for me. Just let me know that so I know whether or not to wait for it. I really like your ART pipe gains, but need the cats to neutralize the smell so it's catted exhaust or no go for me on the ART pipes. So if you have no plans at all for a catted exhaust system, please let me know so I can not be waiting for it only to be disappointed.

If an exhaust is going to have cats, it's going to most likely be in the stock position, as stated before the XYZ pipe from Motordyne has a cat option and I believe Tony has an exhaust set-up in the works for that pipe. The ART pipes are a test pipe though and that is where your stock o2 sensors are plugged in.

Yes. There will be cats built in as an option.

Not arguing here, but why do you think this has to be the case? HFC's have been failing left and right, and Tony has already explained that putting a HFC further down the line will extend its life due to lower exhaust temperatures. Plus, it would retain the incentive for people to buy his ART pipes. :)

Oh, missed that. Sweet, can't wait for dynos and clips. I have been leaning towards Fast Intentions because they have the resonated HFCs and 18" resonators in their CBE to keep the volume down but maintain the growl. Motordyne seems to get better gains form their ART pipes though so I hope their exhaust gets great gains too with options to keep the noise form being too loud. Looking forward to seeing the results.

ART pipe review (part 2) videos.

Ok, I have about 200 miles on these things now. I took a few videos on the way to dinner tonight with my Fiancee running the camera... a little hard for her to keep the vid steady, but I thought some people would like to see this. The first run traction control came right on and slowed the run down, but I thought for the sound I would keep going though it might be mostly wind noise. Notice the tires chirp 2nd and 3rd gear :) Felt cool lol.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7VY5sCJTnw

This run was from 0-60 with the windows up... as you will hear, the pipes themselves are pretty quiet. I don't hear them at all inside the cabin when the windows are up actually. 0-60 with a VERY slight roll... maybe 2-3 mph.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV4b9Xjt_nI

By the way, someone can embed these if they know how... I don't. I know i'm not that great of a driver either, so you can make fun if you must

Is your car stock other than the pipes?

b1adesofcha0s 08-31-2011 09:17 PM

Here you go. Nice vids BTW. Need to get some from the outside of the car though. Check out my exhaust vid for reference

Made a lot of great progress on the exhaust system today. Its visual appeal is 100% up to par with its design.
I'm very happy with the development results.

I've been taking mine on and off for development testing and you can really feel a difference. The ART pipes give the engine a breath of pep.

How about some teaser :pics: then? :D

Motordyne 09-01-2011 08:57 AM

A little later on the pics and sound clips. We're still experimenting with a set of primary diameters, lengths and merge points. And they all affect the sound ....Sound clips will be posted first, then pics once the prototype parts are cleaned up and looking like production.

Really wish the TP's fit the G37X Coupes. would love to bolt these on and get close to 310-WHP and 250 WHTQ on a AUTO :)

Regarding the exhaust variant that uses the existing XYZ pipe, is it correct to assume that there will be 3 main parts: XYZ, new mid pipe, new mufflers. If so, any chance that the new mid pipe will able to bolt up to the stock muffler flange locations (so we can have any combination of Motordyne and OEM exhaust parts)?

Please contact me in about a week. The latest production run was adjusted to allow for 3/8" additional clearance for the X transmission.

No, sorry. The Motordyne exhaust uses V-bands and V-band clamps. Not the 2 bolt flanges.

DJZ 09-03-2011 02:30 PM

In for exhaust updates.

Methodical4u 09-03-2011 07:06 PM

Adding to my ART pipe review, I thought I would let everyone know I have a little over 300 miles on mine, they are settling in nicely now and the sound is pretty well limited to once you get on the gas pretty good... but it's a nice tone, even on the stock exhaust. Gas mileage on the computer seems to go up faster too, but that might just be wishful thinking. I will keep and update on what my mileage is for this tank.

I need a set of tests pipes for my stage 2 GTM SC. will they fit the car with the stage 2.
Tony get back to me.

thanks

Steve

What's crazy to me is how fast my car is and feels right now...and I still haven't done my UpRev. O_O

I can't imagine the beast that will awake once that is done in the next few weeks. Haha.

There should be no reason why they wouldnt fit with the stage 2. Unless the stage 2 comes with headers and test pipes/cats just because their location/routing changed

If the stage 2 doesnt come with any special headers then it means your using stock headers which would mean the art pipes would fit without issues. The resonator on the art pipe runs alone the transmission and so parts of the Stage 2 should also not be in that area.
