Blot on Performance upgrades
Alright gals and gents, I have 4K to spend! I am going to do some blot on upgrades and was looking for some honest feedback/personal experience with the parts I am thinking about.
1st, STILLEN : STILLEN Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Dual Intake Kit 2nd, STILLEN : STILLEN 350Z / G35 / G37 / 370Z Headers 3rd, GReddy 4th, STILLEN : STILLEN Oil Cooler Kit Now a caveot I am considering this exhaust as well, but this is an X pipe exhaust, thoughts??? possible exhaust choice, AAM Competition R-LINE 370Z Exhaust Thx |
1 - Good
2 - Skip 3 - Good 4 - Good 5 - High flow cats (pick your brand) You could skip 1 also and do a few other options for a cheaper price, drop in filters & smooth pipes and get some good increases. |

I also wouldn't buy the headers. You could buy some HFC, save money and get better results. |

Ok so skip the Headers, I was also thinking of getting the ECU unit reprogrammed. I hear Forged offers this. |

I wouldn't buy the intakes at all then, you'll have to throw them out once you get a turbo. |

I see your point about the Intakes. However it is going to take me 3 years to save the money for the turbo. I wanted to improve performance over that time and I could always sell the intakes on e-bay. |
substitute HFC's and headers and go with the F.I long tube headers.

1. Stillen Gen III Intakes
2. MotorDyne ART Pipes 3. Any Choice Exhaust 4. MotorDyne M370 manifold 5. Z1 Oil Cooler Kit. 6. Uprev Tune Should end up around 4k. |
Once you tune the car with full bolt ons, the M370 has shown no improvement.
And it hasn't been tested on FI engines. So I wouldn't advise him to buy that. |
I would just get HFC and CBE to be completley honest:
Headers are too much off hastle for the gains and money TRUST ME HFC will keep the sound deep and VERY limited rasp and will also give you some bump in HP along with the exhaust of your choice. (TUNE WILL HELP GREATLY) only run a 3" exhaust when you do TT (backpressure, TQ...)or if you plan on going TT shortly. Just remember that you can always buy another and then sell the one you already have BUT, you may be out of a car unless you buy and install the new exhaust first. same goes with the intake. If you plan on TT then you could get the GEN 3 and sell it once you install you TT but drop ins may surprise you but I still say just go with KN drop in |

It is too unstable of a product and is unproven on many levels and proven on many others to reduce top end TQ/HP |
Blot on upgrades?!?! LOL!!!
I just did: K&N drop in's M370 Powerhouse Amuse Y Pipe and catback Uprev tune upcoming Who makes those smooth intake tubes? |

Have you ever heard of the 'UpRev Osiris'? |

Once NA, the other with my SC. They are your best bet in terms of 'tuning' your car for more power, but I view it as more of keeping your car in check. If you just do HFC/exhaust I would not be overly concerned with a tune unless your car feels off. |
I agree with the drop-ins recommendation given your plans for FI down the road. HFC and CBE would also be a good call - 2nd the recommendation that you could sell the CBE after a few years.
Put the rest into handling mods and/or aftermarket clutch. |

Ok, so you would recommend the Osiris over a Cobb? |

PS- Get the Z1 oil cooler fo sho! |
Don't waste ur money for bolts on, trust me its just a waste of money
you will end up paying 4k, and with this 4k you're pretty close for SC kit from GTM Some ppl prefer bolts on (i was one of them) and some ppl save money to buy FI kit. its your choice. |
Look for a 4.08 differental, It will really wake your car up.
You should save your money and go for a GTM stage 1 SC,' 120 to 130 rwhp again vs 42 to 46 rwhp.from the bolt on's and your going to have to get your car tuned (Uprev). That will be a few more $. |

I see your point, however every performance shop I have spoken to says go TT over SC. That being the case I will do upgrades that can carry over to the Turbo. Save my money for 3 years then have Forged drop a TT in my car, one along the lines of Godzilla. 2009 Nissan 370Z and 2009 Nissan GT-R - Modified Magazine at 12psi 518rwhp 450wtq That is a lot more powerful then a SC!!! |

It really sucks these are not available options on the Nismo from the factory. |

I, like you, will probably be going turbo some where down the line. I still need to finish my suspension, then brakes. Let us know when you start getting more serious about it! |

I'm going to get the bolt on upgrades within the next 2 months 'weather permitting'. I am pricing out shops now. I will post up Photo's and the before and after dyno results. |

4k on bolt ons!! LOL...i wish people would research and actually learn about performance modding rather than just buying everything and anything every company puts out at thier premium
|
No i do not have my Stage 2 from GTM. Its taking along time as the SC has not arrived from Austria. Hopefully it will be on my car in the early spring. i have all the bolt on's my car now.
