I think bad microphone has a lot to do with the rasp but then again why use bad microphone when you're uploading an exhaust video. Anyone heard this setup in person? I will let our sponsors fill you guys in more about release dates, prices etc.

Meh, mic can't account for rasp that bad. I don't like the sound of it...

^^^ +1

I don't think it sounds that bad. It is in development, so I feel that they will improve the sound a bit.

Good point, and we need to let Borla finish before lambasting them again—or not ;). I'd like to see their parts and layout of their system. At it stands, Stillen currently has them beat, but it's great to see the SoCal shops jump into the fray.

If you look at the G37 forums you can see that the Borla exhaust is one of the preferred exhaust now out of all of them if DB is no concern then a modified nismo from the 07-08 350z is second. Just some FYI so I think it will come along well.

One of the employees from borla started a thread on my350z and asked for our opinions on what we wanted. I can't link it here but it's in the 370z subforum and it's titled 370z@borlaperformance.

Alvin from Borla Performance in California. We've made terrific progress on our 370Z cat-back exhaust and although the audio/video is not perfect, we wanted to keep the 370Z community updated. We think our exhaust sounds great! We'll have this product announcement on our website next month.
Thanks for the comments and this thread. Any current/future owner comments are appreciated.

Will Borla will be adding the flex pipe, like the factory and many of the Japanese aftermarket vendors, to help prevent harmonic resonance? Thanks.

Additionally, flex couplers help isolate engine vibration to reduce stress that can lead to exhaust component damage in welds, hangars, etc. While we've specified flex couplers in many of our products, Borla R&D has engineered this 370Z cat-back exhaust without the need or added weight of flex couplers. Thanks for your interest.

Any idea what the length of the tips will be? From the video it looks like they are angled which I like will that stay? I havent seen the borla for g37 maybe have to look it up, but do you have any numbers that came from that car?

Borla has always been a little raspy, even with the Mustangs.

I was a Magnaflow guy with my Mustang.... very smooth and pure. I'll be interested to hear what they come out with.

stinhambo 03-17-2009 06:43 AM

I prefer the Borla methinks.

LiquidZ 03-17-2009 12:06 PM

I have Borla Stingers on my Mustang... awesome!
