I cannot comment on how the Berks mesh with a Nismo cat-back exhaust, but I have to say that installing the Berk HFCs on my Z was the best bang for the buck mod I have done so far. The volume under 3,000rpm was slightly increased, but extremely quiet and near stock levels. However, after 3krpms is a different story... The car really opens up and the overall volume level probably doubled over stock. The car sounds great and in my opinion, the cats are the most restrictive component in the whole exhaust system followed by the Y pipe in the non Nismo Z.

I have yet to read about a CEL being triggered by Berk HFCs; they have a built in defouler that has been fine tuned to the point where CELs are not going to be an issue.

I have the nismo oem CBE and berk HFCs, I can't comment on the tone change since I got both installed at once but the butt dyno confirms extra HP. It drones a little and has some rasp on a cold start-up, but that goes away. Sounds great otherwise.

Unfortunately not, the OEM exhaust still meets with the Y pipe (which is what I replaced with a Tanabe Y pipe) and that Y pipe is the second biggest restriction in the stock exhaust. The Nismo cat-back is a definite improvement over the regular cat-back though.
