nogoodname 02-25-2009 09:21 PM

sounds super similar but has a deeper sound......nice find!!

the Z is not raspy as compared the G.....i expected it to be raspy.....lol.....

AK370Z 02-25-2009 09:23 PM

Very nice exhaust! Love the rumbly growl. I actually sent a pm to Stillen about this video an hour ago telling them that I won't post the video. I will let them post it. But I guess you find it before any other members!

Good video and I'm surprised how nice the Chicane Yellow Z looks

SoCal 370Z 02-25-2009 09:27 PM

I wish the tips were cut at an angle like the stock tips to flow better with rear body styling. And more importantly: how is the droning, if any, at constant highway speeds?

m4a1mustang 02-25-2009 09:31 PM

That sounds nice. I wish all the different exhaust people would make recordings like that.

nogoodname 02-25-2009 09:37 PM

^^ or what about the vendors that give discounts to the 1st buyer that will post vids for them.......if you know the brand....chances are you'll like it anyways

dlmartin81 02-25-2009 10:05 PM

Yeah, I like the sound of it too.

Man that thing was out.

dlmartin81 02-25-2009 10:13 PM

Actually, after watching it again, I must say that it is the best sounding exhaust that I've heard so far....IMHO.

Good job STILLEN!!

Does anyone know the size of the tubing?? I would assume it's 2.5. Anyone care to confirm?

RCZ 02-25-2009 10:20 PM

I like, but still like the other one more.

kdo2milger 02-26-2009 02:23 AM

argh! damn work network is blocking the video...cant even proxify it...argh.

that said, ill wait till later and get on civ internet to watch it now that i have perscribed to the thread.

Minicobra1 02-26-2009 03:15 AM

Nice tone, pretty smooth launch, I wonder if that was and Auto or 6MT.

Sounded like an auto.

dlmartin81 02-26-2009 07:41 AM

^^ Yeah, I too believe that it's an auto.

semtex 02-26-2009 10:49 AM

^ Well you see, it's got this synchro rev match thing that's like launch control . . .

Seriously though, I'm really impressed with this exhaust, and the price is right too. I just figured out what I'm doing with my annual bonus check!

alan93rsa 02-26-2009 10:52 AM

Sounds good from the outside. I wonder if there is any drone on the inside.

There is absolutely no drone on the inside. All STILLEN exhausts are designed to not drone.. that's a directive from Steve Millen personally.

kdo2milger 02-26-2009 11:07 AM

MAN! I want these, with berk HFCs, and either the JWT or Stillen Gen3 CAI...

Off Topic: still on the fence over gen3 or jwt...

dlmartin81 02-26-2009 11:08 AM

Josh,

Would it be possible to have different exhaust tip variations?

I would like to see it and possibly order it in the future with an angle cut tip, much like the style of the stock tips.

Josh,

I would sure like to see/hear some videos from inside the car at highway speed to clarity the "no drone." Thanks.

I'm the one that did the video stuff with Steve driving. To answer a couple of questions...Yes, this was an automatic car.

In regards to the no drone. There is absolutely ZERO drone. I was actually very surprised. we are running some pretty small resonators on this exhaust and I thought it was going to have a little bit of drone but there is seriously NONE.

I think I did some in-car footage but it's not very good and Steve and I are kind of talking while we did it. Josh might have it but since it was so bad might have deleted it.

We always want to listen to our customer's and gain your opinions on the products we produce. I will throw your idea out during the next new products meeting and let you know what we can come up with.

batman_4 02-26-2009 01:42 PM

^ what about some single-walled options....most JDM exhausts offer single-wall tips.

on topic: i really dig this sound from this exhaust and boi does the 370 look like it moves quick

Endgame 02-26-2009 01:48 PM

I agree.. The angled tip like Stock will be HOT!

I'm a fan of Stillen, but wouldn't buy this exhaust as it is. There are a few things I consider with exhaust systems.

1. Performance - which is there if the 18 whp is normal, this is definitely passing.
2. Weight - No idea what this weighs. I'm sure less than stock, but how much? Stainless is nice. Titanium is a lot nicer.
3. Sound - It sounds pretty good.
4. Looks - With those tips sticking out, breaking the flow of the back end, I'd have to pass. Single walled usually look cheap to me, like unfinished pipe, and I hate the blue tips found on most titanium exhausts.
5. Quality - This one seems to be of good quality.
6. Price - This one also has a good price. I kind of chuckled at the marked down MSRP on their own site. Like they had a price hammered out, then marked it down. I get it, it's marketing.

Black kNight 02-26-2009 02:18 PM

nice sound but how much it weight this cat-back ????

ArtVandaleigh 02-26-2009 03:37 PM

Nice sound.

semtex 02-26-2009 03:50 PM

Josh, you guys planning on coming out with HFCs to go with this any time soon?

FERRARI 02-26-2009 07:20 PM

Yep, it's free shipping. I know this because I placed my order on Thursday. I've also got the Berk HFCs on the way. Both should arrive by next Thursday. I can't wait!

exuse me for being retarded semtex, as this is new to me. Can you please explain the difference between the Stillen exhaust and the need to put HFC's with it. I thought the Stillen is a full bolt on so there is no need for HFC's??? I'm looking to replace the stock exhaust when my Z comes in and thought putting the Stillen on (instead of the Nismo) would be all I needed to do. I'm just looking for some better sound, if bhp comes too, all the better. I'd appreciated some education here ... thanks!

The Stillen exhaust is a full catback replacement.

the high flow catalytic converters replace the stock converters...

So the Stillen doesn't replace the stock converters? If you want to replace them, you need the HFC's too? What does adding the HFC's with the Stillen ultimately do?
