Achieve Ferrari exhaust note

Is there anyway to achieve the high pitched exhaust note of a ferrari without actually buying a ferrari? I've been watching some vids and absolutely love the way it sounds. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I heard something about twice pipes...not sure what those are.

Small displacement, high revving 12 cyl engine swap.

Looking for this sound?

Guess you need to get some big speakers and play this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV-O4RWcSHM

Meistershaft is the loudest and most raw sounding exhaust system...
But without the Ferrari engine it will never sound like a Ferrari..

You're missing a few cylinders if you want an Ferrari sound without sounding Ricey..

Oh? You don't like that Z's exhaust note? I'm open to options...care to link me a few vids of ur fav's? Also, it didnt seem raspy to me..but then again i'm a newb. I thought raspy exhausts that that slightly unfinished 'airy' sound to them and didnt have a full rich tone. Is my description off?

This Z sounds very mean; I think it's the best I've heard.

Record a video of your car and set it to 2X fast forward. Sounds like a Ferrari F1 V12.

i'm guessing the OP has never driven nor rode in a ferrari of any kind, otherwise they would know that the sound is simply not possible from a Z. i like the way the Z sounds but it will never be (nor should it be) a ferrari so let it sound good on it's own without trying to knock on anyone else.

BGTV8 07-05-2010 08:45 PM

Ferrari engines have flat-plane crackshafts .. the V8 engines are actually a pair of 4-cyl engines coupled together as the crank throws are all 180-degrees apart (as opposed to 90-degrees apart like a Chev or a Ford). This gives the traditional "Ferrari wail". The V-12 is bascially a pair of 6-cylinder engines tied together in a 60-degree V-configuration.

If you want an exhaust sound like this, stick a Ferrari engine in your car ... all a Z34 is ever going to sound like a a pair of 3-cylinder engines !!!!

No, it's not a turbo whistle. The vertical bar splits the air exiting the exhaust tip and theoretically reduces turbulence. That said, it's more of a signature mark for the Meisterschaft brand.

NYBladeZ 07-05-2010 10:27 PM

The meister exhaust is the loudest out there but damn expensive the rear can will run you as much as the whole F.I. Inc. exhaust.

Can't replicate the sound of a Ferrari but I'd recommend a fujitsubo or amuse ti exhaust if you want a high pitched quality sound

I'm working on it. :driving:

I'm still trying to cook up some serious ways of making some real cash :stirthepot:.
I don't have any ideas yet, do you have any suggestions? I'm thinkin about being a real estate agent on the side, then learning the in's and out's and buyin some investment properties. Not sure how well this will go in today's economy.
As always, I'm open to suggestions ;)

The BlueMax 07-06-2010 12:11 AM

Its hard to make a V6 engine sound real good, now if Nissan made the 5.6 liter
V8 availible as an option the sound quality would definently go way up. I would no longer fear the Corvettes, SS Camaros, and 2011 Mustang V8s.

not many ways to "flip" property in the present state of the economy unless you can afford to buy a lot now cheap and hold on to it for a few years (or more). the overall economy is pretty tight right now, the people who have money aren't spending it like they were so hard to carve out a piece for yourself unless you already have it

Get your real estate license, keep it up to date! The property market won't return for a couple of years. But don't wait until then too plan your future!

Completely a result of my being a partially blind and dyslexic typist .... the keys on the keyboard keep moving about (or was that related to the rate of beer consumption), or is it the fact that I am upside down compared to you guys (coming from the land of OZ).

I think this is a great idea. I'm going to do that. :happydance:

Getting back on topic now... that exhaust vid of that yellow meisterschaft Z is one of the best I've heard. Right now I think it holds the top spot, but again I'm a newb and not sure if i can tell a bad-annoying-raspy sound from a good one. Need some opinions on which you guys feel has the best, richest sound. They all seem to sound the same to me except the meisterschaft and fujitsubo exhausts.

The problem with the Meisterschaft is that it will probably get you into trouble here in VA.

We can't seem to do anything here in VA. No radar detectors, no underbody lights, quiet exhausts.... :shakes head:

It's time to move out of VA. I never did like this place anyway lol.
