as expected, disappointing.

wishihadnav 07-06-2010 11:31 PM

Should change their name from Kinetix to Pathetix..haha.

These guys claimed all kinds of numbers with there first VQ design and didn't deliver. Check out my350z dot com. Did ok for FI applications but flopped big time for NA. Just for show and no go. :twocents:

I was kinda disappointed, but it looks good you know? but doenst look good for 1k!

As I said before, designing intake manifolds without a flow bench = crap shoot :icon14:

Or... at best LOTS of trial and error... sounds like so far the results have leaned towards error :icon17:

I agree Jordo. Designing an intake manifold for many new cars these days is a lot of work.

Bling?

Prefer performance over bling. For 1K you should get some of both.

We tested the manifold on a FI car. Keep in mind that this is still the prototype. The car boosted 1psi more right at spool up and through out the power band. I didn't get to finish my test because of other things that we had to do on the car before Saturday.

1 psi equals about what 3 hp? And would a NA car get that increase too?

theDreamer 07-18-2010 04:17 PM

Bump, anything new?

Jamaica 07-19-2010 01:18 AM

More info this week.

Vegitto-kun 07-19-2010 10:42 AM

Lol I think I would be better off letting my tuner make my intake manifold.

He atleast has a flow bench

Actually, if it made more boost with no other changes made, that probably means it's flowing LESS not more air.

Boost is really a measure of restriction.

Yes, but it depends where your limiting factor lies - if the greater mass flow allowed the turbo to produce more boost pressure, that's a good thing.

But in the case of this manifold, you're probably spot on.

So is this bad for NA?
