thanks for the speedy replies,

so been doing some more research, tony says the wouldn't do CAI and just do drop in air filters, will I see a large gain if i do just the filters? I want my mods to be functional and I like the idea of installing it myself so thats why i'm leaning towards the CAI because it seems fun to install and gains have been proven. why do some people feel that it is not a useful mod though? are the gains minimal if one frees up restriction by adding a cbe?

I'm pretty sure my intake gave me gains above and beyond what the exhaust alone would have given me.

Just did dyno with Stillen Intake and Nismo Exhaust

The Nismo exhaust is still restrictive compared to the likes of FI and other straight thru CBE. A straight thru CBE will net you 20 whp but will be louder.

True, but my point was that my numbers showed more of an increase than just the FI exhaust alone.

well since you didnt do a before dyno you really have no idea. All cars are different and some come with more or less power so you have no idea what you were at. Im sure you did get some good gains with both mods but you would have probably got another 10 hp/tq from an aftermarket CBE and your CAI. But it would be louder too so thats a factor for some. For the OP if you are going to do LTH then you are obviously looking for the most gains possible, so I would do FI LTH, CBE and G3s for the max power combo IMO and you will need the tune.

The drop ins will help with throttle response some but not much in power, maybe 2-4 hp/tq. The stock CAI is only 8-10 degrees above ambient temps, which is about what the long tube intakes do. The long tube intakes widen the MAF section to lean the car out and that is where they get most of their gains. The stock CAI with drop ins also flow 240+ G/S, not sure what the long tube CAIs do.
