sounds great
very interested on how it stacks up against the stillen/hfc combo on a dyno. btw Bster don't ruin this thread with some horrible sounding exhausts....never have been fond of the HKS raspy/fart-can exhaust note. |
To Minicobra1
I had a similiar setup on my 350z (Nismo exhaust with random tech cats). I also felt the Nismo really came to life with the addition of the cats and my other breathing mods (plenum spacer and pop-charger). I really liked it. It kept the stock tone but made it more aggresive under load. The 370z iteration seems to be the same way  To Bster I remember the HKS exhaust for the 350z, I always liked how it looked a lot but the sound can get pretty raspy. It's still not bad though. That video sounds like he is running test pipes though. A lot more rasp than I remember. |
Sounds GRRRR8 Mini. That is the sound I am going for. Any check engine light??

Anyway I posted those links up as Semtex mentioned about it. I can deleted it if the original thread starter would like me to do so. I'm over in Singapore so there aren't many approved exhausts available for our country yet but HKS is one of the few that our Land Transport Authority seems to favor. |

personally the exhaust note is way to tamed. It sounds like a stock exhaust. The HKS on the 350 is much better.

my turn -
|
I just bought my 370Z.
I own a 350Z with Borla Catback exhaust system. It’s the best investment I have ever made on this car. The sound is deep and it “sings” all the way up. It’s quiet on the highway unless I push the car a little. It’s simply the best sounding car I have ever heard and beats any Porsche or Ferrari sound from far in my opinion. Most important, it doesn’t sound crappy like most of the after market exhaust systems. It sounds “sophisticated” and makes a lot of curious people turn their heads when I drive buy. I am looking for the same sound for my 370Z. I would buy Borla anythime but I have to admit that I am a little bit disappointed with the “Borla developpement” video. Doesn’t sound as good as my current system. The Stillen is my favourite for the moment. But I am such a Borla fan that I will wait for it to officially come out before making any decision. I would advise the same to all members… One important thing about the Borla exhaust, the tip are inclined just like the original, giving a better “fit” overall. Stillen doesn’t have that unfortunately (and neither does Nismo from what I see).. Does any of you have any more information about when the 370z Borla exhaust wil hit the market?? I am very impatient!! Any comments/feedback is appreciated. |
^ Welcome aboard. I highly recommend using the Search function if you haven't tried it already. A quick search on 'Borla' brings up a number of results, including the following: http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...ighlight=borla
Looks like a developer from Borla chimes in on that thread. Although I don't think he gave an exact date. Still, that thread would be the place for your inquiry, as this particular thread isn't Borla-specific. If that developer is watching that thread (which I hope he is), your question might get a reply from him there. |
