Someone needs to try and recreate the gunshot noise of the new f type v6. maybe the supercharger on that has something to do with it. that last exhaust sounds pretty brutal. I like the low rumble that you get from the 370 however it would be cool to get a sweeter/higher pitched note when getting the revs over 2/3k.

;( thats the opposite of what I wanted to hear lol. I think the 370 is too high, makes a whiny weak squeak and its embarrassing to rev it next to anything with a V8, even stock. I like the deep rumble and loud bark that the password JDM, GThaus "if they could make it not rasp like a POS" and that ONE top speed setup...... which hes in a garage, AND im skeptical on the sound recording quality...... ive heard other top speeds and they dont sound anything like that. I thought a good set of say.... the stillin SS headers would make it deeper because they are actually a larger diameter. same for downpipes "test pipes" and resonators and well... a larger diameter exhaust in general. I was always taught its amount of exhaust flow, diameter size and use or resonators that create a lower tone. wrong?

Don't know anything about that but both of my test pipe set ups made my exhausts higher pitched
|
If you don't want a raspy sound, then I would say to get resonated test pipes. But you can't really make the VQ37 sound like an American V8. Its pretty much always going to sound like a VQ37 to the trained ear.

Invidia CBE with Motordyne ART pipes and AEM cold air intake. If you don't want a raspy sound stick with stock cats lol, the least raspy and loud test pipe set up would be something with the ART pipes imo. A lot quieter and less raspy than normal resonated test pipes. I've been through only a couple of exhausts but went back to Invidia at the end. Definitely one of the cleaner and less raspy sounding exhausts with test pipes. |
I think it must be the supercharger and butterfly valve bypassing the silencer on the F Type that gives it so much noise. And as much as I love a V8 sound, the V6s f type honestly had the sweeter tone (for me) and because the Z is a V6 it would be cool to try and recreate it. Try get that slightly higher pitch at the top end (rather than it sounding like the engines about to break and wants you to change gear haha) and get some pops and crackles in there too. A lot of exhaust systems I've heard online for the Z sound a little farty. This could just be because most vids are of them idling and revving rather than actually hearing them in all their glory. anyways i'm rambling and know nothing really about cars other than i like them and i wish i new more about their technical side!

Launch video of Invidia Gemini + ART pipes. Can't hear much of the test pipe sound at all, very happy with it :)

top speed pro1 exhaust..

Does anybody know for a fact whether the famous Baker Z actually has a Top Secret exhaust or an Amuse R1 Titan Extra STTI exhaust?
I've read ppl say this and that :ugh2: And is there any other mod involved in producing this gorgeous race sound (LTH perhaps) or is it all exhaust? Saclam is still my absolute favourite though. There's no other like it (except Ferrari). I get goose bumps each time I hear it:p I just wonder whether the Saclam be good for Twin Turbo or whether it's for NA only. |
