Fast Intentions CBE with 18’’ Resonators Review

Let me start by giving a BIG Thanks to Tony for the GREAT sounding exhaust. Tony was quick to get me back on the road as soon as possible. Tony was very professional in his installation, making sure everything came out perfect.

Tony also warned me about the sudden smoke that would occur sine the piping is new so no worries here I’ve had prior experience with brand new exhausts.

Now the first time he fired it up I kinda was like DAM!! is this the same car?? :excited: It put a big smile on my face, And I have been smiling since.

I have the 7AT and Tony mentioned of a little bass sounding tone but when I drove it I found the low bass sound soothing to my ears, and did I mention the BIG FUKIN grin I had??

It took me over an hour to finally get home and I ran in the house to get my wife to come out and listen to it. She loved the deep rumple of the exhaust, And took my keys and said she I'm taking it for a spin and when she came back all she said was I LOVE IT, and asked to pass on her Thanks to Tony.

For any of those still on the fence you need to see them and listen to in person videos don’t do it justice. I was fortunate to go to local meets and hear the competitors out there, And that’s how I came to the decision its well worth the price once you see the craftsmanship in the pieces and the dyno numbers don’t lie…

Again Thank You Tony I wish you continued success and will see each other again at your customer appreciation get together later on.

Here are some pics I took, and I’m not a pro with the cell phone camera since I forgot my nicer one, those are the ones at the time of the install, the after ones are on my real camera.

I also posted a before Video sound clip And one after the FI CBE install, like I said the video doesn’t do it justice as it sound better in person.

I might mention these setup is with the Berks HFC's

Update!!!
Some Have asked about how much Ground Clearance? I'm at 4'' in height and this is sitting on Eibach Springs so your clearance would be over 5'' if not dropped. Here is a Pic from the lowest part of the muffler so it's not as low as it looks.

The first time you fire it up, all you going to say is Wow!!
Tony recommended, drive it normal don't rev it high for at least 4 or 5 cooling cycles, this is to insure the packing material in the mufflers set. Have fun :D

Red370 03-16-2010 11:13 PM

Hopefully they dont quiet down when they burn in like mine did, pissed me off pretty good and I have HFC's :(

Sounds great. Congrats! That 7th picture down is really cool looking, especially for a cell phone pic.

Nice deep sound...That last pic makes it seem like the canisters are almost flush to the ground? Did you lower your car? Might just be the angle of the picture...How's the clearance?

yea it's dropped on Eibach springs, clearance is good so far I have gone over quiet a few speed bumps with no clearance issues. It looks like there would be from other pics a have seen but it's got clearnace to put you at ease. :tiphat:

i got the exact same exhaust installed on mine ..
and coming from a former stillen exhaust owner,
the clearance is waaaay better. sounds and looks
heck of a lot better too.

m4a1mustang 03-17-2010 07:55 PM

Oh man... i am so tempted to buy HFCs lol.

Jl lE lM 03-17-2010 08:06 PM

Damn, sounds nice! Ita looks awesome too!

Slynky 03-17-2010 09:00 PM

Ordered the same setup...man! That's a world of difference over the Berks.

ejrives 03-18-2010 01:11 PM

Thanks for swaying me Trips!

FuszNissan 03-18-2010 01:14 PM

G_d I miss this exhaust!!!

bejan 03-18-2010 08:01 PM

Once you hear the exhaust fire up, the exhaust sells itself. Do not hesitate to order the FI exhaust, just do it! Other exhausts do not even come close to FI. Get at Tony! He's the man!

Updated Video on first post.

Viera 05-13-2010 10:06 PM

Does your car really sound that deep? Or is it deeper in person? That, hands down, is the best sounding exhaust, ever. I know the 12" won't sound like that. I know it'll be louder, but I want that same tone. Ah, damn. Damn.... I love that deep, deep growl.

Yes, It's that deep!!
And the 12s are definitely going to be louder.

cubarican84 05-13-2010 10:55 PM

finally! bro. I've been asking you to post the new "break in vid" for a couple weeks now. Thanks man. I think a lot of people will benenfit from this. 18" w/Berks HFCs 200 cel FTW!!!!!!!

Trips 05-13-2010 11:01 PM

I agree, and the best part for the few who may not like it as loud? Well they can just install the stock cats back on to make it more civilized for them. lol

I have to correct you. The Berk cats are 300 CEL, NOT 200!

Juruki 05-14-2010 11:12 AM

do you guys think the 18in resonators with HFC's will be a lot louder and deeper than the 12in resonators with stock cats?

Not sure about louder however the 18inch res is alot deeper.

Regarding loudness I think they might be on par.

semtex 05-14-2010 01:06 PM

It sounds so quiet.

???really??? I could of swore that they were 200. I don't doubt you tho, you are the expert. Soo what would be the point then of going with Berk HFC instead of Fast Intention? ;)

Apparently the person who did the write up for that dealer needs to re check their sources. The Berk cats are a Magnaflow core. Part# 59956 and that is a 300 cell metallic cat. We used to use the same cats up until December of 2008.

Since then we have moved to a different supplier for a number of reasons. We like the cats we use now better because they hold up better to the abuse.

dlmartin81 05-14-2010 08:43 PM

Trip, the CBE sounds awesome, man! I like the burble at idle.

ryanboy 04-15-2011 12:21 PM

nice brother!

brucelidat 08-19-2011 01:49 AM

That sounds awesome. Does anyone know how the 18" will sound with stock cats? This video has convinced me. I will be getting the FI CBE as a Christmas present for myself. Planning to also do the Stillen CAI unless you all know of better ones that cost less. I am not sure about the HFCs. Someone told me they can be a little tricky to install.

brucelidat 08-23-2011 01:48 PM

I would love to hear it in person so I can make a decision on a CBE. I noticed your Downey license plate. Do you ever make it out to the Socal Meet in Cerritos? I might try to get out to one of those sometime.

I'm one of main members always there. If you want to come? the next meet in a couple of weeks 1st Sat of the month.
Come on down so you can hear it in person or join us this Sat for the Angelus Crest cruise?

Methodical4u 08-23-2011 03:19 PM

sounds much different from new to broken in... deeper and IMO better... though both sound nice.

How long was the break in?
