We did some research on the Hissing noise. We are testing out some solutions to this. For one, let me just say that the exhaust by itself does not make this noise. If you ever put your oem cat back on you will be able to hear its true tone.

we believe that the sound is generated from the flanges that meet at the HFC and headers. The sizes of these two pipes are different and by looking at some HFC's they do not taper down, but instead create a step between the two piping sizes.

Note: TONYBPD, tracking # will be in mailbox by this afternoon.

TeamARK. The hiss is not from the flanges where the cats meet. Even with the Fast Intentions long tube headers the car makes the same noise.. the way the engine is designed it just makes this noise. The less restriction you have in your exhaust system the louder it will be.

:iagree:

After going through 2 sets of test pipes, I don't think there is any solution to this. I could be wrong but I think I'm the only one with an Ark exhaust AND test pipes. Unless someone else can chime in.

We had sofa_kings car with and without the HFC. I guess our definition of "hiss" is different. But its a fact that there is a difference in sound between the two.
More hiss with the HFC.

Alex
