yes, fully warmed up engine. it just sounds nasty when you're at WOT. otherwise it sounds awesome when slowly giving it some gas

:iagree: Yup, deceleration hiss is normal.

My HFCs had some nasty rasp for the first week or two. It settled down tremendously after a few heat cycles. Now I have a hint of rasp when listening outside the car if things are cold. On a hot exhaust, I only get compliments on the sound. Give it a little time to settle in. If it's still bad in two weeks, call ERZ and complain.

alright...ill report back within a few weeks. if the rasp continues i will likely take them off :\

cant stand the ricey-ness when revving high

unfortunately i dont think anyone has, yet. depending on the rasp/hissing issues im having (ie. if they go away) my next mod will be an uprev tune since im fully satisfied with the current power/sound of the nismo exhaust/ERZ hfc. will have dynos then!

on that note...i got the CEL today "service engine soon" :shakes head:

wont be home for another hour to pull the code though.

anyone have issues with constant CEL's?

i got my first CEL a month ago - catalytic converter efficiency bank 2. ive since cleared it, stuffed in varying amounts of stainless steel wool, and no fix. if im driving in the city, it seems to hold up, but freeway driving causes the CEL to come back almost guarenteed. i keep my ODB2 reader in my glove box just to clear it...but its getting old.

Some HFC users encounter recurring CEL b/c of the O2 sensors. In that case, you may need to get the O2 bung extenders, and then stuff steel wool in those.

I didnt get 1 CEL for the 2k miles or so I put on the HFCs before my UpRev tune. I think, but am not sure, that the tuners do something to eliminate warning lights from the O2 sensors.

Yes, that's also another option if you're going to get a dyno tune. They basically program it so that the ECU ignores the O2 sensor input at the HFC so you won't get a CEL because of that anymore.

interesting. guess i will be looking to get the UpRev tune as soon as i can source some HPS intake tubes. :D

unless...GTM really has that VVEL cracked

Be warned though, that will fail you when you come up for smog eventually. The emissions test checks for sensor readiness and if a set of o2 sensors are turned off, they will fail the readiness check and you fail.

Otherwise, keep adding o2 bung extenders until you don't get the code anymore.
