I've been talking to Tony about these for a while, feel a little compelled to step up and join in on the group buy but I REALLY WANT turbos. No point in doing these if I'm doing a turbo kit in the next 6 months or so.

Tony, no hard feelings my man, I'm holding out for either an SC or TT kit as you know. If no one comes up for a somewhat affordable option then I'll go for the headers (I'll pay you for the install though...F That)

you could buy them now and sell them to me in 6 months at a discounted price

motoextreme 12-20-2009 11:46 PM

I may take you up on that offer. I don't know if I can afford that TT kit anyway with times being so tough. If the SC kit comes on I suppose these headers would only compliment them.

I need to rob a bank!!! Bought this car to keep my spending down and you guys are NOT helping!! HAHAHAHAH

kannibul 12-21-2009 12:33 AM

I guess, having a 7AT has been a good thing, as I'm nervous about what would happen to the tranny with too much power...I hope that eventually a kit will come out to improve the 7AT even further, but until then, this is probably the last power-performance mod I'll do...if I do it.

Again, it'll totally depend on how much of a PITA it will be. I'm sure it'll be the most difficult thing I've done yet...and I'm sure there's not a shop around that would do it for me. Certainly not the dealership...they told me flat out they won't even put HFC's on a car...CBE, sure, but nothing more.

For me, it'll come down to Sound + Gains > PITA + Cost.

Same with a S/C...

these LTH's are gonna be great for you guys.
is FI gonna show any interest in non turbo 300zx's?

G37Sam 12-21-2009 02:29 AM

Holy crap look at that ZX engine bay hahaha bet there's no room to slide an A4 paper in there

vipor 12-21-2009 08:10 AM

haha i always hated helping my friend with his 91 Z for just that reason. even working on the top is a PITA

XwChriswX 12-21-2009 09:17 AM

Jeez, I finally find this thread and there is already 12 pages!

Can't wait to order everything from ya Tony!

Are you kidding? There is lots of room once you remove the air intakes and strut bar. Don't think it will be easy; but it's do-able and it will be easier with two people; one under the Z and one over the engine bay.

I figure about 6 hours work with lots of Timmie coffee breaks and afternoon venison BBQ

disclaimer: I have the proper tools, lift and experience

kannibul 12-21-2009 09:36 AM

Myself...

Probably do not have proper tools (I have a 300+ piece toolkit from Sears, but no specialty tools), no lift, and I've never done headers before.

But it's not rocket science.

Kastley85891 12-21-2009 09:57 AM

Go for it... cant be any worse then shearing off a cat bolt in the header pipe. Yes I did that...lol

i think you missed my point.

i was saying the 370z is a piece of cake to work on compared to my twin turbo 300zx.

working on a ZX is all by feel. one rarely sees the bolts one is trying to get at.
once you get rid of the octopus sitting on top of the engine it's a little easier.

Oh, shearing off a header to head bolt would probably be pretty close.

Kastley85891 12-21-2009 12:20 PM

^ yes - stuff of nightmares, but got to go for it or pay some one else to **** it up... ;-)

G37Sam 12-21-2009 04:43 PM

Nothing beats the feeling of banged up knuckles once you're done haha

Kastley85891 12-21-2009 04:48 PM

^ dude my hands looked like I had fended of a rabid cat

kdo2milger 12-21-2009 04:52 PM

mechanix gloves from one of the many auto parts stores for around 10 to 15 bucks will save those knuckles ;)

G37Sam 12-21-2009 04:57 PM

But those eliminate the fun haha and besides you sometimes need to feel bolts and use your fingers, those would eliminate that factor too to an extent

Mr. Anonymous #004, thank you for the order.

He wants his identity hidden. He says there are too many F.I. haters in his neck of the woods!

Thanks, Tony

G37Sam 12-21-2009 05:49 PM

Tony is that list restricted for Z's or can G's come in?

Or are we going to have our own list? my money's ready bro and my pocket and mod bug are itching haha

kdo2milger 12-21-2009 05:51 PM

MrBMW 12-21-2009 05:55 PM

Hey Tony. Hopefully you get to see this amongst all the other posts, is it going to possible to get these LTH's to work with our cars that are on the correct side of the road:stirthepot:.

On another note i am so loving the RTP's still. I just cant help flooring every now and then just to get that wonderful sound going going.

Keep up the great work work mate:tup:

This list is specifically for Z's! I have a separate list for the G's! once you and I get everything finalized you are on it. Right now IvoryG is on it and Shumby is pending.

Good to hear from you bud. It has been a while since you surfaced. Since your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car I do not know if they will fit. When you get a chance, take some pictures and send them to me. This way I can see what we are dealing with...

Thanks, Tony

Hopefully we can ride this momentum all they way THROUGH the Super bowl. When they lose I am depressed for a few days. When they win I feel like a different person. I have been a fan for over 20 years through the great and the bad. I do no waiver or jump ship. Now is a good as time as any. Let's bring that 6th championship to Dallas. Ok, ok, ok, back to the topic!

Don't get me started! One of the only things I am more passionate about cars than is the Dallas Cowboys and if any of you haters out there got a problem with it, DEAL!!!
