These headers are considered "FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY".
obviously these aren't "street legal" but does anyone know how getting an inspection will work considering that there haven't been any CELs?

It depends - if the shop ONLY checks for CELS, you MIGHT get away with it. If they do a sniffer test, your *** is hosed. BTW, FWIW, modifying your exhaust can be construed as a federal fine, and I believe it goes "per cat. converter" - something potentially as ridiculous as up to $15K per cat...does that happen often? No, I doubt it.

BTW, Im fairly sure Texas is one of the most strict states as far as emissions goes - not nearly as harsh as Cali, though.

If you fail inspection, couldn't you put the stock header/HFC back on, get the inspection sticker, then swap back out?

I mean, that's a PITA, but, it would be a legit way around the system...

That said, I'm sure slipping the guy doing the inspection $100 bill might also get you an inspection sticker. :)

Would it be possible to lean it way the heck out so it'll pass the sniffer test too? If you have one of those programmable ECU tune-doohickey's, that is...

I've heard of bikers doing that, but then again, there's a lot of tall-tales in the biker world ;)

Yes, you can. Just depends on how much work you're willing to put into it, is all lol. If you never want to touch it again though, theres no reason stock manifolds + HFC's and a good CBE wont do just fine.

And, no way about leaning the car out...the difference between an un-catted car and a catted car as far as carbon emissions goes is RIDICULOUS lol.

It's my understanding that on newer cars they just hook up to the OBD, no sniffer. Worst case my brother can get me a sticker, but I'd rather not have to worry about it. I know they don't actually look under the car, at least not that I've seen.

Maybe Tony will come up with a crazy-cat S pipe (what I'm calling the pipes going from the header to the X-pipe) for passing emissions!

If that'd even work.

The only reason you arent getting CEL's using the HFC's is due to the O2's not being in the direct path of the exhaust anymore, like they were.

Trust me, headers go on, you'll fail a sniffer test.

Lucky me, we don't have yearly inspections. We used to, but they went away.
