The drivers side. How da f word do you get to some of these bolts and apply torque to them. I dont even want to talk about that heat shield lol. Cant wait to finish up the install.

I used a pair of tin snipes and cut up the heat shield to get it out. I removed the drivers front tire and when through the gap between the frame and fender liner to get to some of the nuts. Others I used my calibrated torque meter in my elbow. :D No leaks after about 3yrs. :D

Think about getting up there to drill out a broken stud. I would replace them.

Everything has come out just fine beside one heat shield bolt. Just drivers side is very little wiggle room

I removed the exhaust manifold and cats as one piece. This way, I didn't have to mess with the demon bolts.

How to unclip this.on the drivers side.

Rusty 12-13-2015 10:57 PM

I slipped a small screw driver into the plug right where you have the arrow.

Yup that's what i did. Good sakes, i don't know how you guy that did the install all by yourself did it. I had someone slip a flathead down to press the clip and it came out. Then the heat shield. Install the long tubes Wednesday. Pictures will follow. Thanks for your help rusty.

Glad to help. The only problem I had was the fricken heat shield. Trying to take it out once I had it unbolted. :shakes head:

Elmo370z 12-13-2015 11:45 PM

I dont even want to talk about it. I just left it in there. I saud faq it. Then pulling out the headers was a pain. But i got after a few curse words, and banging around.

Almost ready to fire up

One thing you might want to do. Relocate the plugs for the O2 sensors that are mounted on the tranny. I've broken both of them hitting road kill. :shakes head: Got them taped and zipped tied together.

Your supposed to dodge the roadkill. Don't straddle it, bad things happen.

Sometimes you don't have a choice on a back road.
