Default Replaced M370 with z1 intake plenum

I already have uprev tune and frankly amazed at my WOT AFR in the 7at, did a few full accel in 3rd from 50-80.

Before swapping in the z1 I was right at 12.5. Car was tuned with m370. After replacing with the z1 intake manifold it is now 13.1 so it leaned out quite a bit but i also have only driven about 30 miles since the swap.

Doesnt mayter since im getting a retune on monday to account for the swap but just found that interesting so sharing.

After you give the long term fuel trim a chance to compensate (about 30 miles city driving), it would be interesting to see if the afr on the 50-80 pull changed before you get the retune.

Why did you decided to change manifolds?

Unproven but i just feel it chokes off my top end. M370 has 83k miles driven on it. I didnt care when doing 3 or 4 track days a year and not thst much extended highway driving but now thats reversed, the car will do no more trackdays and most of commute is how highway. I want that 10-15 hp back on the top end, if i can get it or add it. We will see

10-15 hp loss? Every dyno chart I have ever seen stated it was a loss of 1-2 hp at redline. How did you come up with such high numbers?

We'll see very shortly whether my guess is correct or not. If i thought it was that little i wouldnt have spent money on the z1.

Its either money well spent or a waste of money. Whats done is done

I researched both for quite sometime. I went with the M370 because it produced better gains throughout the entire powerband. The only negative I saw was the loss of 1 to 2 hp at Red line. Please be sure to post your findings. You have me really interested.

I will have some results by this evening. 60 miles driven since swap still about .6 leaner at WOT in 3rd gear. Didnt try other gears taking it easy until retune.

It is noticeably louder past 5k i have noticed and it doesnt feel like its losing steam uptop even without the retune but that could be my brain wanting it to be the case.

Retune is a few hours away on a different dynojet at a different location and a very cold day, its currently 18 fahrenheit. Hopefully my results are SAE so i can compare to the other dyno but worst case im gonna do 3 pulls at original dyno to make a direct compare when i get back this week.

Anyway, more information to come when i get home tonight or earlier if bored.

Just realized you're also in MD. I used to live in Pasadena. I'm now down south on the border of AA County and Calvert. Where are you going for the tune and dyno?

I'm at R/T Tuning in Montgomeryville, PA. 6 toll booth to get here, thank god i have EZ-PASS. 2 1/2 hour drive, i left at at 5am. Plus Vince had answered some of tuning questions before so i always had in my mind if i ever needed to have a re-tune for something i was going to give this shop a shot. Good reviews, etc made it a no brainer.
