Berk HFC and AAM Short Tails

Wasn't entirely to sure where to put this. Is anyone running this setup? How loud is it actually. Also low are the tones. Does it growl? Pur? Fart?

That's just the AAM short tails (resonated). HFCs will make it louder and sharper from what I've seen on the other Zs here in Denver, but the tone stays about the same.

Just the short tails though was loud enough that it annoyed the neighbors when I left the house at 6am, and I hate being "that guy". But what really sucked was the resonance in the car; at highway speeds the trunk area would buzz, the headliner would buzz. Hell, stuff inside the dash would buzz.

So I went back to the stock nismo exhaust until such time as I can justify a real four-digit cat-back solution that sounds better than stock, but isn't as boy racer about it.

Heh.

Yeah, I'll probably spring for a full cat-back from Fast Intentions. I really like the way it sounds on some of the other Zs; more muscle car rumble than euro sport sharpness - if that makes any sense.

The resonated AAM short tail exhaust with HFC’s will definitely sound louder, deeper, and have a sharper growl to it. I think the AAM short tails would be best matched with their AAM HFC’s. I have heard the resonated AAM short tail exhaust with the Berk HFC’s in person in my opinion it sounds great but, for some it could be too loud/obnoxious though everyone is different. The best thing you could do is try to listen to exhaust clips online and try to see if anyone has this exhaust combo on their 370Z that you could hear in person.

Ran the un-resonated version of this setup with AAM 2.5 pipes for years. - That was pretty loud.

If you want to hear how that sounds you can download this short video clip.

*audio warning It gets loud at the end. Idle is nothing special.

Hmmmm Ill maybe try that combo out.

I had Berk HFC but was so lazy to put it on, and someone wanted it. so away it went. But the AAM/AAM combo might be doable as well.

time to scavenge hunt in part sale section
