Default Manzo Y-Pipe review

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share a review of a Y-pipe that I had purchased for my vehicle, there are a few threads on the topic but they are a few years old with outdated info so I figure I give a quick review of a cheaper option out there for Y-pipes in hope it helps others down the road.

After countless hours of research of outdated threads for y-pipe options to complement my newly purchased Tanabe exhaust (currently waiting on delivery from Japan) I came to the conclusion that spending the big bucks on a big name brand pipe may not be the only option and the savings that can be had may be better spent for something else on the car.

That being said I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for but the y-pipe only ended up costing me $134 US Plus shipping so I figure that's a good enough price to take a gamble on and worst-case scenario I'll purchase the Tanabe pipe if this one fails miserably. In reality they are just two pieces of pipe welded in a Y formation and as hard as I tried to justify spending $600+ for a y-pipe I just couldn't see the justification in doing so especially with so many having great success with cheaper alternatives.

The brand is called Manzo Performance and I believe this brand to be at one point called M2 performance that many purchased from a few years back. Manzo seems to be a direct competitor to TopSpeed branded products for I believe both brands are geared towards the eBay market more or less with TopSpeed edging out Manzo in overall build quality slightly, maybe... Here's some general information of the seller and product below. Please note that for a little bit more money this exhaust pipe can be purchased from Manzo performance directly via their own website just if you so wish, just Google Manzo performance.

I must say, after unboxing the pipe on arrival I was impressed with overall quality and the welds to me looked great! It came with all the hardware and was packaged well. After installation I can say that fitment was 100% spot on and tons of clearance between the underbody and piping. Everything fit and aligned perfectly, Sound was good it sounds the same at idle as stock but in the higher RPM range the stock exhaust tone is louder and sounded good, no rasp.

My car is stock with the exception of AFE drop in filters so it was mated to the stock exhaust for now. For $134 US it was a great cheap mod that I'm sure netted some extra HP and torque. I must say, the throttle response seems to be sharper...maybe just in my head but it did feel like it was snappier?? Overall, a must do mod for cheap! Below is the info on the Y-pipe and seller.

Seller: tcboverstock (99.3% customer satisfaction rating)

Good review

Gains Not in your head at all, its a slightly broader design y with larger diameter piping with no crimps like the stock one. Its almost identicAl to the megan piece. I swapped a megan in my 350 many many years ago and had the same experience.
