Default Intake water bypass valve advice

Hey guys, looking for some input on what I should do. I've got the Injen CAI and the Stillen front fascia. I'm constantly worried about hydro-locking my engine. I basically have 2 options. 1) Put on intake water bypass valves on my Injen intakes but I'm not to keen about cutting my intakes. This would be the easiest and cheapest option though. 2) Buy Stillen CAI's, re-run my oil cooler lines which would be a PITA and be out a few hundred $. But with option 2 I could get windshield washers back since the washer fluid bottles don't fit with the Injen + Stillen fascia setup.

Anyone have any experience with water intake bypass valves?

Thanks!

I have Injen intakes as well. I really don't think you should have any issues as long as you don't submerged your front end into a big puddle. And when it rains, just don't rev your engine into high rpms so the intakes won't suck in too much air or possibly water. The front bumper is covered pretty well underneath, so I think the filters are pretty well protected.

Have you considered getting the Injen hydroshield covers? They are basically covers that go over the air filters and they are water repellent. They don't affect air flow, but it does give you a piece of mind because it keeps the air filters dry when it rains. I had an Injen CAI with the hydroshield cover in my Altima SER for 5 years, and I never hydro-locked my engine.

Now that I have my 370z with the Injen CAI, I'm going to get the hydroshields covers as well. If you don't like the idea of the hydroshield covers, I would go with the first option you mentioned with the intake water bypass vavle.

Hydrolocking an engine is increadibly hard to do... If anyone's engine gets hydro locked, they deserve it.
At WORST your car will sputter because a MAF will get wet if you drive through a monsoon.

Do yourself a favor and buy some filter socks

Awesome thanks for the reassurance guys! I've have hydroshield covers already. I was just worried because the filters sit right behind large openings on the Stillen fascia.
