If you are going to a track day you will need one. Tracks will not allow you to use the tow hook that comes with the car due to the size of it. (when I mean size I am talking about the round part where they can use to pull you out/tow your car) These are more to the specs of what the tracks are looking for. Someone correct me if I am wrong here. But this is what I have been told the last time I was at a track.

Your wrong.

Most tracks will require you have a tow hook installed on your car prior to going on track, but the stock one will do just fine. That being said, the stock one is ugly. I like these .

Actually, it depends on the track Mike. Some will actually required that it has this minimum inner diameter. Also, some will require it to be Red, yellow, or orange but thats usually for higher levels of racing.
