Oh man if I knew I could have saved 110$ I would have waited

zer099 08-16-2017 08:46 AM

Is there an option if you just want the camshafts? Lets say for those that already have the C1 cams and already have all the springs, shims, bolts, and what-not.

Carbon 08-16-2017 10:45 PM

im waiting for a v1 and v2 comparison before i pull the trigger

chuckie311 08-16-2017 10:51 PM

i think its pretty clear by the dynos.. C1 cams make more TQ and C2 cams Make more Horsepower

Carbon 08-16-2017 11:13 PM

numbers to compare too are still good to have

chuckie311 08-17-2017 10:22 AM

read through this thread numbers posted

http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...ts-inside.html

Broken down here
C1 cam
This car baselined at 298hp and 227tq (This was after an uprev tune, on a motor with a cat back and intake) after the cams the motor produced 309.5hp 258tq to the wheels. So the real star of this was the torque increase in the midrange as that is very noticeable when behind the wheel.

C2 cam
With a baseline power of 268whp and 219ftlb, and a final number of 305whp and 241ftlb the gains were very impressive.

Carbon 08-17-2017 11:04 AM

Sadly we switched our dyno since we have last done a C1 set, im going to try and get a car in here to do a run with and have accurate info!

^taken from the thread

chuckie311 08-17-2017 11:48 AM

you wanted number to compare.. yes dynos are different so its a estimate between them.. either you want low in TQ or upper end HP

MAMotorsports 08-21-2017 02:47 PM

BUMP.

Our local customer with the C1 cams has not been able to stop by yet, but it is in the plans.

Short answer, yes.

Long answer, we have 2 engines being built right now for two different high power turbo cars. Based on previous experience, we expect to see an improvement in spool times, the ability to flatten the torque curve for much longer in the power band, and the ability to keep making power above stock redline (With the needed parts added)

scope22 08-23-2017 06:18 PM

What about HP? How many hours to install these?

So below redline, quicker spool and consistent torque

HP gains are on the dyno graph in the first post.

Install hours will vary depending on exact parts changed at the time of install. For a running driving car with the engine still in it, install time is between 22-29hrs depending on parts used.

Ok, I will add you in. Just let me know what you decide. In all honesty, C2 will be the best bet in most cases. Im happy to answer any questions if you have them.
