Glenmorangie usually, although almost any of the highland stuff is good with me.

My favorite is Knob Creek Single Barrel. Very smooth for being 120 proof, and it's very tasty neat. Stuff is addictive. My best value bourbon is Buffalo Trace. While not the best bourbon ever, it is the best bourbon at it's price and is better than some higher priced bourbons.

If I'm in the mood for a bourbon and coke I just go with Beam. No sense wasting good booze on mixers.

+1, this is exactly where I have been with my whisky drinking as of late. Though, I haven't had a mixed drink in quite a while but I used to do Jack when mixing.

My pre-virus quarantine stash. Needless to say it’s smaller now, but I think I’ll make it thru.

The Real JayZ 04-15-2020 04:52 PM

Haha. That's what I did. Kinda regretful at least for my liver. Spent about $730 on stash in case no more ABC store. Lol supporting my local government and plug

People that don't know you might think that you just bought all of this for the quarantine. :rofl2:

Before hearing the news that the liquor stores were considered Essential - made a run as well but mostly for tequila for some Palomas but did buy a big bottle of TX Whiskey to mix with some sprite or coke zero (gotta watch those calories haha ;) )

I am trying to learn more about whiskey but so far other than the usual; but bc of poor choices as a young man - Jack is NO FRIEND of mine haha.

When you get to be a seasoned drinker you’ll stop mixing it. Then you can worry a out good whiskey. If you are going to put it in coke then just find a $20-25 bottle you like.

This is by far the best JD product. Used to be a silver select, not sure if it's just this one with name change.

Rusty 04-16-2020 07:43 PM

I don't have to go to any liquor store. I get my moonshine from my buddy the hillbilly. What ever proof I want. From warm your belly, to make you go blind.

I definitely agree with this statement. I just need to find something that I enjoy enough to drink straight. Since it shows that you are from the Houston area - there is this one whiskey I tried that I thought tasted really good straight (believe it's a distillery out of the Austin area. Called

Sweetheart of the Rodeo by Kooper Family Whiskey. Overall I thought it was great but winded up leaving it with my cousin since we were all drinking there for a long weekend.

Never heard of that one. We are lucky to be living in a whiskey boom. A bunch of new stuff popping up and all the established distilleries are starting to experiment with small batch stuff.

I don’t drink much normal whiskey anymore. It’s all barrel proof, small batch or single barrel.

My father wasn't a regular drinker, only special occasions or family events. However, when he did go for the hard stuff, Jack Daniels was his go to.

It's ironic. He was a healthy individual to the T, yet went out with cardiac arrest while we were running a game of ball hockey in 2010. Nothing wrong with drinking in moderation folks!

On another note. I'm big on JD myself, if not that then it's Crown Royal (A must if you come from a Indian background). Ginger ale for both and if I'm at a party and a lady be giving me them googley eyes, then we drinking that stuff straight with a pinch of ice cold water.

1alexie 11-10-2020 10:05 PM

Drinking is normal but you have to do it moderately.
