Im getting a steal on a kit brand new, but wondering if anyine has had one and can tell me how they like it or compare to other kits like gtm bp etc.. i know i still need sw injectors etc..
Wondering why greddy is making a diferent kit? |
Search is your friend. There are a few running around.
What do you mean they are making a different kit? |

In the meantime they sold a few for good deals, but wouldn't advertise the deal publicly. |
what is the post date for this on the fb page?

I have been using the Greddy kit and only just sold it recently because I bought much larger turbos that I am currently putting on my car. I daily drove it for over 3 years without requiring a single bit of maintenance or repair. I did make a couple changes; I upgraded the oil feed line setup to be very high end, and I relocated the wastegates to the exhaust manifold, and eliminated the long extension tubes they put on that kit for some reason.
Upon removal, I DID find that the passenger side manifold had a pretty big crack in it. however, this is actually pretty common with cast iron exhaust manifolds that get put through lots of abuse (especially when covered with header wrap like I did), and I rarely went 100 yards without taking advantage of my turbos. I replaced the manifolds for the buyer of the kit, and it was around $600 for the pair I believe. What I would recommend to anyone looking at jumping on the deal is to call Greddy and verify that they intend to keep manifold replacements available, even after their new kit comes out. Replacing manifolds every few years is no big deal (most guys dont even keep their cars that long)... unless, that is, they are no longer available. We can all safely assume that the new Greddy kit will use Garrett GTX turbos, like their new GT-R kit. |
Well i just bought it! Ships out today it was their last kit! What else do i need? Clutch, injectors, etc?
|
anyone got a greddy tt kit?
Clutch, flywheel, CSC, injectors, fuel pump, gauges, oil cooler, Uprev, boost controller. A radiator and thermostat (NOT Mishimoto) are a good idea.

For your clutch/flywheel/csc PM me for all the rest :) |
Don't forget the most important part - a good, experienced Uprev tuner.
|
Tune is more important to then parts themselves.
|
Awesome i will start piecing it together. Already ordered the greddy bcs. Anyone got a link to a good gauge pod? Car has exhaust already. Hope the clutch isnt that expensive. I got quoted 550 for the kit install. What about sparK plugs? Need gapping? Yeah ill take it to an uprev dealer ima have to tow it and have them dyno it. Thats 900 bucks. All i need r the wheels, coils, and fuji kit.
|
Whats wrong w the oem cooler, thermostat, and radiator? They that bad? How much psi could these handle safely without internals? Maybe i should get that too and just do the whole damn thing at once. Hate doing things twice
|
The OEM cooling system doesn't account for a big intercooler in front. You're in tx. Buy the radiator and oil cooler. Trust me.
|
There is no OEM oil cooler. Stock thermostat and radiator are fine for a street car. I am still on stock, never had a problem. But you are in a hotter climate than me. It probably comes down to how hard you intend to run the car.
Nissan hasnt assigned any of those items a specific boost pressure rating, so all you can do is proactively upgrade things based on recommendation, or wait until something falls short of your expectations and upgrade it then. |
Get your fuel mods from cj motorsports, aka phunk. He has what you should get and will school you better than anyone else on the vhr platform. He also has the most miles plus most hp on a stock block than anyone else. Says something about his ingenuity and parts.
|
Just saw it. It was only 1 kit, the only price he gave was "under 6k"
|
Hey phunk how much hp where u running, and what clutch did you have?
|
671rwhp with OSGiken twin disk
|
On the stock block with the greddy kit? I see the greddy dyno its like 450hp and 380trq or so....all those things u changed on the kit do you think affected that or was it something else?id just like maybe 500hp 400trq safely if possible.
|
Also couldnt u have just upgraded the turbos on the same kit?
|
I didn't really change anything in the kit that was going to make more power except maybe the exhaust manifold porting I did could have made a couple hp... But that wouldn't really matter. When you are barely working the turbo system anyway, you can just turn up the boost to make more power.
No I couldn't put larger turbos on this kit... It doesn't exactly work like that. |
Awesome did u ha e pics and videos of ur car?

What exactly would this kit void in my warranty? Tranny? Clutch? Engine? Sensors?

Ya all the above. You're lucky if they will change your oil.
|
There's exceptions... Some dealers can be mod friendly at times but you cannot bet on that.
