I had the chance to re-tune the flex fuel sensor of my friend's built G35 Greddy TT kit on E85 and E10 (pump 93). I love working with Haltech EMS, much more user friendly than other standalone EMS I've played with. The car is honestly a beast. These VQs can really put down some power given the right setup. I'm planning on running E85 this summer, utilizing a flex fuel sensor and ethanol content gauge. The 5 switchable maps with uprev will be tuned accordingly to the ethanol content. It's going to be a manual input flex fuel setup. Here's a dynograph from the G35's tuning session.

That's ridiculous

Did someone finally come out with a flex fuel sensor for our Z?

Not that I know of. But if you were savvy enough you could tune each individual map for different levels of octane, measure it when getting gas and just switch to the appropriate map. Take a lot of road tuning, or easy access to a dyno, to do but could be done.

Edit - sounds like the OP has something specific in mind so maybe he can educate us

oil less turbo

Hows your kit holding up? any issues with your setup?

turbo kit

I was thinking of doing a similar setup.

Not yet but Ecutec is working on it.

I will be using a flex fuel content analyzer with a gauge to show ethanol %. Zeiltronix makes a great kit. Each of the map will be tuned according to the %. Any standalone running e85 flex fuel sensor will take a tremendous amount of time to tune the compensation map, so Uprev will be no different. A 10% difference in ethanol content can be compensated by the ECU under closed loop, so exact % tuning isnt critical.

 for Zeitronix, I've had great results with their products in the past

I looked heavy into Zeitronix for my setup. It was a close call but I ended up going with the Greddy multi gauge. They make good stuff

I've put over 1500 miles on it and the only issue is lack of traction lol. Not a single oil leak, well the turbos never needed any to begin with :excited:. My oil temp never gets above 220 after doing prolonged pulls and usually hovers 210 in stop and go traffic. I will get an oil cooler installed before summer, but it's suffice for now. I've checked the exhaust downpipes and no crack anywhere. I've been recently stressed out from buying a house, so hasn't been doing much tuning and updating the car. Once I move in the new house, I may sell a kidney to buy a dynojet and car lift :icon17:

Again awesome job and innovation on doing it yourself..

comp turbo

Which comp oil less turbo would you recommend for a single turbo kit? Any advice? Internal waste gate of course. thanks.

thangcu35 01-24-2015 04:38 PM

No company makes an internal WG setup for a turbo that size. You can look into this one Comp Turbo - Billet Wheel CT4-6465. It's triple ball bearing billet compressor wheel rated for 810bhp. They use Garrett turbine housings. Also COMP turbos are lighter than other brands due to the aluminum center housing.
