You asked for opinions, you got one. Sorry you don't agree. Maybe you could try reading a book about the subject. I would suggest "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell.

I never said I didn't agree Chuck. I found the perfect solution, you. It's a win win situation. You fix my problem, I pay you. You don't fix my problem, well no payment.

How about you read it to me when I'm in Houston. I promise I will listen to you very thoroughly, and take notes.

No reason to be bitchy. When you ask for opinions on the internet, you may get some you don't like. This isn't the first time on this page alone you were told that was a bad fab choice, but you blindly soldiered on. So keep at it, champ. I'm sure you'll have that car up and running one day.

Who said I'm bitchy? But since your the internet expert I guess I am. God why am I so bitchy, especially on this forum? The ******* green weenie strikes again. In the form of the internet now.

But really why don't you come on down, or wait, I'll go to you and ask you in person.

I've been told everything is impossible on this forum, Chuck. I'll be in Houston March 19-22 come say hi. Can't miss us. We have Marine Corps and our PLT stickers on our cars.

I never claimed to be an expert. It doesn't take an expert to know what you're doing is a bad design choice. You could have found that out simply by looking at a picture of any other 370 intercooler. But keep going, you're this far in it. Maybe you'll prove physics wrong.

Alright big sexy. Tell me more..... My mind is filled with naughty 90 degree tig welds, and other type of bends people say is a big no no.

Let us pray and ask God a question.

God can I prove physics wrong? I really want to please Chuck and let him be my bestest friend? Can you do that for me God??

I think God replied with a big **** you just now. Damn.....

One off custom build

First Google search came up with PVC but It shouldn't matter much since the friction coefficients will be similar.

1 - 90 3" bend is equal to 8ft of straight pipe. Short story long any bends in your system are going to introduce frictional loss and not be as efficient. So it is better to have it enter straight into the intercooler. Now if it's the only option then, it is what it is.

TopgunZ 02-21-2015 12:43 PM

Now im curious...So how much does 8ft or a 90 really slow down flow? Does it affect boost threshold? By how many rpms?

I'd need a text book to calculate pressure drop caused by the frictional loss but it will effect threshold cuz you have to over come the extra friction loss.

The test car for Sasha's V2.0 kit picked up half a pound of boost from the new routing. I believe that most of that is due to not having the hard 90 at the exit to the compressor cover.

COSMO 02-21-2015 02:55 PM

What company came up with that design on intercooler? Dude just go with another intercooler so you wont bottleneck the system...
Ah, you gotta love this forum...

Good luck with the build. The Z34 community has taken a severe black eye because of the GTM mess. It needs qualified people thinking outside the box and helping develop obtainable products.

This is just as entertaining to read as the GTM thread.

OP is so salty
