Perhaps it's time for a BP FAQ?

6266, T4 1.0 A/R twin scroll turbine, E compressor cover. Ball bearing or journal bearing does not matter.

I plan on buying one of your kits next year hopefully

Neither of those.

Why do you need an entirely new turbo?

the "experts" at importsports say I need a new cartridge, which is only $100 less than a whole new turbo

Drew303 12-22-2015 03:45 PM

Anyone???

I believe it's the first link you posted but you need the 'E' cover, not the 'S' cover that is pictured in the link. You also need the 90deg elbow welded on to the exit of the compressor unless you have the V1.5 IC piping upgrade.

Why not buy the replacement from Sasha?

I didn't notice this post till now.

I can get the turbo rebuilt for you, or have a new one shipped to you. Shoot me a PM and we'll go from there.

What happened with the scavenge pump? Chances are that it is still under warranty.

EDIT: I remember now, you bought a used V 1.0 kit....Just because you bought the kit from somebody else used, doesn't mean I don't support it and the components that come with it :).

You will need to either send the turbo to Precision for a rebuild (about $450) or get a replacement 6266 turbo centre section. You can re-use both the compressor cover and the turbine cover, provided that neither the turbine wheel nor the compressor wheel made contact with either housing.

I will scan over the docs from the shop that looked at it to you. They seem to think it cant be rebuilt and I need a new cartridge. When I called precision it was only $100 less for a cartridge than the entire turbo

Typical rebuild cost for these is around $500, including shipping. The cartridge is the "expensive" part of the turbo. I replied to your PM, we'll go from there.

Kits are coming together. I completed 16 down pipes today...and will continue to go hard on the new V 2.0 kits the rest of this week.

All FMIC pipes are already done (20 sets).

Hope to start taking deposits shortly for those that are interested.
