If there is anything to gain performance wise it's probably in spool and who is really going to notice 50rpms

Fair enough, fwiw I only melted my transmission harness because when I did the clutch swap I missed a clip and it ended up resting on the piping... doh.

Other than that its been perfectly fine, and this is with doing a 1 minute wot run while back :yum:

I'll start with I'm no expert but a couple things to note. First off, of course you are going to get some gains by adding exit diameter cuz you are decreasing the friction loses. The 3" and 3.5" in the article you linked are not like for like comparisons. They don't list what type of muffler was original on it with the 3". Also you can see that the newly fabricated 3.5" is more of a straight shot with less bends in it. More bends equals more friction. Although they don't address it, I'd bet they lost torque going to the larger exhaust.

I wouldn't get carried away with the fact that you 'only' made 509whp. Your numbers aren't much different than any of the other cars running a BP kit. For ex: jlo made 52Xish whp at 11.5.psi, that's about spot on where you are for a 11psi max and he's running a FI exhaust.

And then you thrown in all dynos are different and all tuners tune differently with different goals.

I agree with you. And I also agree with Sasha. 3 inch is fine, but I feel like there could be more efficient power that can be had. The guys with dual exhaust don't seem to be having any issues with torque. I know dyno comparisons should be taken with a grain of salt due to all the different variances that you can have. Its not that I'm looking for x amount of power, Im just looking for the best setup as far as single exhaust goes. Idk if any of that makes sense lol.

But not to derail the thread! My car makes great power on a single exhaust and sounds awesome. The BP kit is more than suitable to turn you beloved 370z into a little monster! If you are having reservations on purchasing this kit, DONT! The price, simplicity, and incredible performance you get out of this kit is unbeatable. This is my dyno sheet on 11psi and in 5th gear:

Buy up gentlemen :tiphat:

That is great, 500ft/tq at 4,300rpm.

I now, right. And he's been complaining about his single 3" being a restriction :rofl2:

I was looking at that... pretty lines on the graph, looks good... nice power... then the torque had me https://imgflip.com/readImage?iid=806673

When I had mine tuned Vince came out and talked to me when he got it up near 11 psi the tq was closing in on 500 and he convinced me to pull some timing to stop the tq from climbing a 4K.

Some would even say rod bending! But not me! haha

Man Nissan (and Sasha :) ) did something right to allow such a huge increase in power with just minor mods. This engine might become the 2JZ of the 2010's with power like this. They just take the power and keep on chugging.

That is a lot of torque. A little too much for my comfort lol. I turned my boost controller off and am running the wastegate pressure of ~7psi because I'm scared of popping my motor. I guess the natural thing to do now is to throw some forged parts into the motor. It will be a while before that happens though. I need time to recuperate money and my relationship with the wife lol.

I have to ask, what are your real concerns? Your 532/497 is the best numbers I've seen on a BP 37HR kit. So why do you say you aren't making the power of the dual exhaust guys?

Idk, maybe I'm just being crazy. My power was made in 5th gear which also reads a little higher than the typical 4th gear pulls. Someone here made 550whp. I don't remember who it was and idk why I'm so hung up on 550. I know there are so many variables that can't be recreated and comparing dyno sheets online is about as accurate as (something terribly inaccurate). In reality I really have nothing to complain about. The car is more than a blast to drive, which in the end is all that matters. Im just being complicated and dumb lol.

Dude...stop and enjoy the thing that is a boosted VQ. You'll dominate 99% of the cars you come across :driving:

Trust me I am lol. I enjoy every minute behind the wheel. You can check my rear tires and tell that :owned:

No. At least not very long. The stock clutch can't handle 450wtq
