Default Stillen Boost Gauge recommendations?

After a long winter I've finally been able to stop on my gas pedal and see how my new Stillen blower feels. At the 1/8 drag strip I'm actually a full second slower than without it, which doesnt seem correct after adding 100+ hp. I plan to get a new tune somewhere but thats a different story. does anyone recommend any A-piller and boost gauge that will work for the Stillen S.C. ?

Go to GaleForce for the custom pillar. Any boost gauge should work as long as you tap the proper location for the pressure source. I'm not a SC guy so pressure location is not something I'm willing to comment on.

Galeforce's work is like OEM.

Galeforce unless you want to replace the OEM 3 gauges (which have to be done together).
On the 1/8 mile time, you were probably spinning more. How was your 0-60 time now versus pre-SC?

The Z is great with boost in 3rd gear and above, but once you get into 400whp getting 1 & 2 to play nice can be tough. Need to balance, tires, suspension, clutch, and RPM launch.

I replaced the center three with AEM combo boost/AFR gauge,Aquamist gauge, AEM Oil temp gauge and I'm happy with all 3.

I'm using an AEM Wideband Failsafe that displays boost in the center and AFR on the outside ring and I'm also using an AEM oil pressure gauge. They are mounted in Galeforce's pillar pod.

I had zero wheel spin on the 1/8 mile and did a 9.3-9.7 sec run with the S.C. before I could do 8.6-9.0 stock. I floor it at the starting line and it does not feel very powerful as before. Im thinking of getting it tuned with something other than the stock tune and get her on a dyno

If you are on the provided tune (or canned tune), then yes I highly suggest you get a dyno tune.
The Stillen provided tune is known to have some "issues," plus with a custom tune they can dig in deeper and adjust items such as fan speed, or worth on smoothing the throttle map to remove any lag or delay.

If thats the case I'm with dreamer, you need it tuned. My car didn't come alive until it had a custom tune and there is no way it's 100% and not spinning the wheels.

I wouldn't use an A pillar pod, Just me since there's an airbag there. I mounted mine on the passenger side near the shifter on the side under the glove box. An is you are on the Can tune you are slower their can tune sux!

oh shoot, lol I forgot about the airbag inside of my A-piller. and she does get up and go pretty quick on the highway, just not off of the line. I'll have to look into the surrounding areas and get it tuned up better.

the airbag shouldn't do anything except break your gauges when it goes off. That panel gets blown off at the top only and the bag comes down from ceiling. It is meant to get caught on the dash so that in an accident you don't have a heavy piece of plastic getting shot around in the car.

The pillar pod is not going to prevent airbag deployment. The worse thing that might happen is you damage a gauge when it goes off. If you get into something that requires airbag deployment then ruining a gauge is probably the least of your worries.
Mariokart likes this.
