I sold my car because I had no fall back to fix it IF something happened. I got ahead of myself. With GTM seemingly going south, I was stressed out because anyone willing to touch it was sketchy or wanted to charge me both arms and legs.

A lot depends on what's found, Time will tell what it'll truely need.

My O/T has been cut drastically in the last 2 months (good 'ole Infidel luck) when I'm used to getting an extra $1K take home every pay period for the last 7 years. It's slowly coming back but I can't be picky when I do it. I have to trust that the breakdown documentation won't be comprimised, as long as it isn't I will accept the findings as Bobby promised he would. Hopefully the only person who wants this mess over more than me is Bobby. Another factor is that the thread is leaning this way and the sad fact that anyone I take it too I will still have the trust issue going on. Draging the car to Z1 would be a dreaded task trying to get the time off and finding some way to tow it up there, not to mention the $6K-$8K bill that would literally leave me broke and having to sell lead for an emergency.

Earlier MMC added..."Every shop and tuner is the best in the world until they bend you over.". This is the truest statement on this whole thread and no matter where I take it there is a possibility that my ball-and-chain for luck would strike again. The charger will be shipped to Rotrex for evaluation, I want everything looked at to help ensure no problems in the future. Once the motor is taken apart and inspected the conversation with Bobby will go from there. And whatever is done will have to be backed up with Bobby's reputation wide open for everyone to see. The wife is sick of this as any wife would be and just as hesitant to let this happen, if it's a failure she'll have ammunition for ANYTHING I do in the future. I have new respect for people who have to go through this, it takes years from your life and it's hard to compromise when there is so much at stake but at this point I don't really have too many options.

Didn't proof read, gotta get ready to go to work.

Glad to hear something is happening. Looking on the bright side, at least VSR is working with you. Lots of horror stories on the NET about tuners/motor builders telling people to go fist themselves when there are issues.

As for trust, given the amount of interest on this thread I imagine pictures of the tear down will be posted on this thread by either yourself or VSR. I am sure with the amount of knowledgeable people on this form that nothing will be hidden.

Hope it all works out for you. As for your wife, if you do end up having out of pocket expenses just do what the rest of us do....tell her the invoice is 1/2 the amount

You know, Infidel, I kinda agree with JMac
BUT at the same time, I would like to see the tune file, did VSR advance timing like a mofo to gain that 80-90HP? (Sorry VSR, I lost trust in you guys) but besides that, I think that we have enough brains behind the forum to tell what's up. We just don't have control over what will be shown to us from VSR (and I will reiterate. Sorry VSR, I lost trust in you guys)

You have every right to be weary of the outcome. I am sure they will do everything they can to try and make things right, if they're smart.

These forums can make or absolutely abolish a company as we've seen.

You have a long road ahead of you good luck. I do think that VSR is going to try and do right by building your motor. Doing so will only help there business grow in this community.

I cleaned the thread of the useless bickering. That kind of stuff should be done in PMs.

Infidel, very sorry about the trouble that you have been going through. I'm glad they seem to be trying to work with you toward a resolution.

Hey Infi, Nice to see progress. Geez don't be so tuff on yourself. Why not take a little time off and offer to assist with the engine breakdown. Just hold the drop light, hand off tools, grab rags etc. If Bobby agree's you'll lean a hell of a lot and you can capture the break down. If you want to save some twisted metal QC labs is an excellent metalology labratory and if you grab a few pill bottles of oil I can recommend the top oil analysis company around. I don't think it's worth the money but if it give you peace o mind what the hell. You've peeked all of our interest & I'd love to see pic's of the breakdown.
It really seems as if Bobby is steppin up.

If I'm not working I'm not making money. I couldn't get the time off even if I wanted to, besides It's a two hour trip each direction. Oil analysis is fairly cheap with Blackstone but the engine has to be built and stay together first and then after some miles Blackstone will get a sample to test. It's just gonna take more time but everything will come out in the wash whether good or bad. I'm blessed to know there is a high level of attention being paid by a lot of the members on this forum.

I'm glad to head the car is gong to get some attention.
I went through a similar situation on my GTM build. The engine had to be pulled and torn down. I never got the full story of the issues internally. The whole ordeal was a massive cluster with pressure from the wife and roughly 8 additional months of time to complete the rebuild/fix.
Ultimately GTM (Sam) stepped up and paid the labor while I paid for parts. Even though this was a large cost to me that I was not planning on, I feel like he did the RIGHT thing. He could have just as easily told me to go pound sand or not covered the full labor. The deal was that I built the engine and transmission at the same time to prevent this from occurring again. So from that perspective the cash outlay from me was significant.
At the end of the day I spent double what I planned for the build and it was in the shop for 10x as long as originally quoted. So I sympathize with the issues you are having (wife included). Hopefully you can look back in a year and have your car running and forget some of the pain and frustration.
We are the HORROR stories you read about with forced induction.

Good luck my man!

It sounds as though the shop is doing what they think they can to get the car right. As a consumer you paid for a service and a product that made the car no longer work. That's how lawsuits spring up.
