Sam
Thanks for clear updates. I appreciate the HP range you are shooting for and pics of development. I have been trying to get this from Stillen. Do you have a time frame questimate? Will your supercharger system have problems with the 7sp AT? Will any mods need to be done to the 7AT? Is an oil cooler included? I am not familiar with the blower you are using. I have used vortec and with this motor I am concerned that the boost is not very "streetable" little low rpm torque gains. Will your blower be similar? or more like a roots style? Thanks again for the information. IT looks like you are going to take my business from Stillen... John

reading the OP, got a little confused about the noise part. Does this mean this supercharger does not make a whine? lol. Also how much psi of boost does this make on stage 1. I know ill probably have to wait until further tests

If we're seeing around 500whp then I'm guessing somewhere in the 10psi range? And yeah Rotrex wouldn't whine like this comptech setup there
You exhaust note would get much louder though!!

^ I can't say i'll miss that whine, actually it was something I didn't want to hear. Maybe I'm weird but I don't want to hear the whine really. I love the sound of spooled turbos though, that just gives me a flat out erection! I'll have to say that the rotrex until being quiet is a HUGE plus for me.

As for time frame We are committed and planing on displaying both of our force induction system Solution for the 370Z @ sema 2009. (Sema 2009 is in nov) . Now for the 7AT, It is always recommended when installing any force induction system to install a valve body upgrade and a transmission cooler . The new 7AT from Nissan is a new animal and we do have in our facility right now a vehicle with the 7At that we are doing our research and development so offer our typical transmission upgraded, here is a link to what we offerd for the (RE5 five speed unit ) GTM Motorsports*::*Search results We have installed and tuned every SC system you can think of ... vorteck, stillen ,hks ,procharger, We chose the Rotrex system because even it is centrifugal blower it uses a traction drive system which makes the blower very responsive and offer a good low end torque so we are getting the best of both worlds, Below is a dyno graph for a GTM HKS stg 5 supercharger system, the HKS unit also utilizes a traction drive system as you can see this car retained it is low end torque even with the centrifugal style blower, this car felt like a v8 it was a lot of fun . This car is 2005 350z vq35de Automatic (stock engine GTM stg 2 transmission) Sam Last edited by SAM@GTM; 09-07-2009 at 12:25 PM. |

I'm guessing this isn't something that can be installed in my own garage. Looks like it could be a great alternative for those of us interested in Stillen's Supercharger kit.

Sam,
Do you think the 7AT will need to be modified if I am at 5500 ft altitude looking for about 400-425 whp? Not a track driver, but a spirited driver. Thanks, john

Since We are using maf base tuning, altitude does not really make one bit of difference the ecu will be able to compensate for the changes in altitude wither you are at see level or at 10000 . so the car will still have the same factory driveability at all the time . So far I'm impressed with the 7AT, Nissan has done a good job in programing the TCM . As for not doing any supporting mod to the transmission after going force induction,it is not recommended.. at least you need to install a trans cooler, as we are producing more power the transmission is working harder and it directly effects the fluid temperature Sam Last edited by SAM@GTM; 09-07-2009 at 08:49 PM. |
