I did you only quoted part of my quote.:shakes head: you sort of fail at this whole thing.

As for the SC. I think this will be a better option for most Daily drivers. I hope it works well with LTH and a CBE 2.5". that should give the required back pressure. Sam what you think about this. what size exhaust are you testing on?

I'm still leaning towards the SC just on the theory that it should provide more oomph at the low end.

LTH? Need LTH, how about HFCs and standard headers? Here's something that's been bugging me for a while, how do you calculate required back pressure?

this is the question for GTM. SAM COME BACK AND UPDATE US AND ANSWER QUESTIONS

what's the crap of not following the rules? this forum isn't your personal sandbox kannibul!

That was pretty rude man. When posts happen about possible new products, hundreds of people are watching these threads like hawks to see updates, and to have to come in here every time someone posts off topic can be a real pita.
And before anyone says it, no, this post isn't off topic as enforcing the rules is always on point.

:iagree:

Imagine if you posted a thread about nearly wiping out after leaving a car wash, then some yahoo comes in and starts talking about air fresheners. Every time someone checked for updates to see if you learned how to drive yet, they'd be like wtf?? I wanted to find out how the spin-out ended! That would suck balls, man. ;)

Oh crap, this is off topic isn't it? Sorry guys.

Why don't you just call them?

It should be fairly obvious (by now) that they don't frequent the forum as much as you do, given the number of posts where your requesting an update.

kannibul 10-09-2009 01:05 PM

So, why jump my *** over off-topic posting, when I wasn't even involved with the shift towards it going off-topic?

I posted 1 response, related to a response answering a question on why an intercooler was needed (my question), then posted 1 other comment that I thought was relevant, and you jumped my post as if it was my fault for it being off-topic.

Captain Shumby, the failboat is ready for departure.

shumby 10-09-2009 01:08 PM

^^^^ i'll let the OG handel this.

Any other comments please PM me. My posts that are off topic dealing with this yahoo will be removed tomorrow. Sorry to the members for my lack of control

My biggest concern with both turbos and SC on this engine? HEAT! OIL TEMP! OMFG!

Sure does look like a well-made item, though. Nice machining in the photos, and they seem to understand the electronics.

+1 for Sam!

I agree there!

Zsteve 10-09-2009 05:01 PM

Once they get this done, if they dont offer an IC I will get one on my own and I will then get an oil cooler too. Coming from a turbo car I know about the heat they put out and this NA engine is already up there with my turbo heated car. But I think an IC will do well for the engine and work great with the SC. But thats more $$$$$$s.

But they say an IC is included so thats good.

This is GTM you are talking about.. of course an intercooler will be part of the kit. and i agree an oil cooler is a fabulous idea. it cost $$$$ but that is the way of the world.. IC increases the the reliability ya know.. so just keep saving your pennies (if your like me and that's all you got) i'm sure you won't regret it.

I dont think we are going to hear much about anything until after sema.. with any new product.
but I am hearing that theres going to be a lot of new stuff coming out. After sema all this stuff will be ready for sell including the greddy tt kit.
I don't know if stillen is going to be ready to showoff their s/c kit at sema. If so that will def be a step back for them.

NewYorkJon34 10-10-2009 02:33 PM

^what kind of new stuff is coming out? Where are you hearing this stuff from?

RCZ 10-11-2009 07:41 PM

I heard a few things too....should be a good show for us Z owners.

NewYorkJon34 10-11-2009 07:44 PM

What is everybody "hearing" that's coming out for our Z's?

370Zsteve 10-11-2009 07:48 PM

Back here in the Northeast we will wait patiently for a full SEMA rundown daily. Thank you to our beloved West Coast OG. :tiphat:

are there going to be any problems with the belt snapping and causing major engine probs?

shumby 10-25-2009 08:29 PM

no different then if your current serpintine belt snaps.

Zsteve 10-25-2009 09:43 PM

so the SC wont put any added stress on the belts?

of course it will.... there will be another item in the belt to run.... but if you think about it im sure the belt will slip before it just snaps.... And if it starts to slip you will know it. I dont think I have seen belt problems on a SC car that is pushing less than 10-14 psi.... Anything over that im sure you will see problems if you dont change from a serpentine to Cog style system but there is always a way to keep from having too many problems.
