Pablo really is going above and beyond lately. It's to the point now that I just call and email him when I have any questions or concerns involving getting my car shipped down to California.

Keep us updated!

Update

UPS guy just showed up. Contents of the package was my charger and housing w/88mm pulley installed, BPV, and a belt. The only items missing now are (2) Throttle boby pipes, ECU cable, and the air deflector, It's off to VSR in the morning to drop off the car with all the parts I have. I called Sam to find out about the pipes (being polished), he called me back about 5 minutes later to assure me everything else would ship in a day or two. I will be calling again tomorrow to find out the status of the pipes. I guess the trick is calling EVERY DAY. I'm almost home................almost :excited:

Infidel 04-17-2014 03:43 PM

The car has been at VSR since yesterday afternoon. I'm still trying to confirm through Pablo at GTM that the pipes were sent, he was at lunch when I called. Bobby says it would be done Friday if he had all the parts but it's unlikely the pipes will be there in time even if they shipped yesterday. I called John at Z1 and ordered a radiator that will be delivered on Friday. Before I was half way home (2 hour drive) Bobby sent me a picture of my car with the bumper off, it's good to see such progress after waiting so long. I have to work all weekend so even if it were ready for me to pick up I couldn't get it so maybe the middle of next week will be more realistic, I've waited months so what's a few more days.

Infidel 04-17-2014 05:48 PM

Well...it seems Sam is up to his tricks again. I was told that the pipes would ship yesterday but when I called a few minutes ago Sam said the pipes would be picked up by 11am tomorrow and shipped later that day. I think the drugs Sam takes kills his short term memory to the point he has no clue what he tells people. Another disturbing trend I'm seeing is I can't seem to get a hold of Pablo now. He was supposedly sick a couple days ago and yesterday I was on hold trying to talk to him and ended up having to talk to Sam. It seems Sam has to control everything.:nutswinger:

I also talked to Bobby, he says everything is pretty much done other than the radiator that will show up tomorrow and the pipes. There were a crap-ton of parts that needed to be installed. I'm gonna tell Sam to next-day the pipes and if that happens they will show up Monday and I will be able to pick the car up Tuesday....I know I'm dreaming:shakes head:.

mikey1600 04-18-2014 12:23 AM

good luck mate, hope all goes well :) seems to be happening for you now!

I'm sure the big smile once you drive it will also help :D

DIGItonium 04-18-2014 08:21 AM

Once you turbo your car, you'll never go back. It'll be worth the wait once you get everything done. I don't regret the turbo aspects of my car, but it definitely costs a grip. :P

He's supercharging it

go7roo7 04-18-2014 09:59 AM

The only way I would EVER buy GTM, is if I fly to their location and inspect EVERY single box of parts they gave me. SMH

Infidel 04-18-2014 11:09 AM

I would have to live literally 15 minutes away so I could stop in every other day to put a boot in their ***. I think this would cut the wait down considerably.

Oops, missed that. I stand corrected. I guess once you feed more power to the block you'll never go back. :D

What ever numbers I get I will have to be satisfied. The wife won't go through this crap again anytime soon and to sustain higher numbers I would have to beef up the internals and I didn't want to do that from the beginning.

I was right...Pablo IS NOT ALLOWED to talk to anyone about the status of their order. I called GTM and Pablo answered the phone he immediately said 'hold on, I'll transfer you to Sam'. I told him I didn't want to talk to Sam I wanted to know what was going on with the pipes FROM HIM. My gut says Sam was in the same room with Pablo when I called. Next thing I know Sam was on the phone. They just picked up the pipes and will be shipped today. That means probably Tuesday or Wednesday at the earliest. I'm hoping I can pick the car up by Friday.:eekdance:

DIGItonium 04-18-2014 04:25 PM

This is unnecessary stress, and I feel ya. I've never driven an SC'd Z, so I don't know what it feels like. At least 450whp from 260-280 whp is great especially if you get it to sound great with all that power. What's nice is that you don't have to mash the throttle and drive wreckless to enjoy the sound and feeling. With my car half throttle in 2nd at 5 PSI doesn't sound like much, but it's enough to have fun and be safe. On cold days, that's enough to fish tail.

Update

There was an oil fitting missing off the original shipment. Bobby called Sam last week and asked him to include this fitting when he shipped the pipes. It showed up but it won't fit. Bobby called GTM and they're trying to find another one. Even if they find something and next-day it to Tampa it won't be here till Monday. It then still has to be tuned/dyno'd. I have to work Monday and my wife has major surgery on Tuesday so I don't know when or how the f*ck I'm going to be able to pick it up now. When Bobby called I asked him how things were going and there was dead silence and then he said 'not good'. My *** puckered so fast I could of snapped a tree limb in half. The only thing that came to my mind was that the motor popped on the dyno.

Bobby is trying his best to come up with a solution if they send another part that doesn't fit. Sam could f*ck up the nicest dream, between him and my bad luck I'll be lucky to get my car at all. If this sh*t don't end soon I'm gonna have a stroke with all the other crap happening in my life.:shakes head:

Anytime you deal with gtm will be Very stressful so go ahead and count on that. What part are you needing?

Some oil union. I was sleeping when Bobby called so my mind was a little slow when he described it.

It's a fuking union...some place like Fastenol or the sort doesn't carry a union?

Chuck33079 04-25-2014 04:34 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't even bother with GTM for that. There's got to be somewhere local you can source fittings.

elperuano 04-25-2014 04:52 PM

I live an hour away from VSR. I could pick up the ride if u want ;)

All I know is what I'm told. Turns out the fitting they were supposed to use was used elsewhere in the oil system. Once the fittings are switched tuning can begin but it's Friday at the end of the day. Bobby said he called GTM and talked to Pablo who said the instructions have been needing to be revised concerning these fittings. Whatever the issue is or who's to blame I won't be able to pick the vehicle up till Wednesday. I have other things to worry about till then.

MidnightBlueZ 04-25-2014 05:37 PM

Saw your ride last weekend when I picked up my car. Sucks to see what you gotta go through. Did they get your plumbing yet? Btw that exhaust work was very nice underneath. Made me jealous.. I need some sort of exhaust where this turbo can really breathe.

Yes, everything is there. I ordered that exhaust before I paid for the MHI kit in early June. Silly me thought I would probably get the MHI kit BEFORE the exhaust came in. Should sound real good, unfortunately I won't find out till Wednesday.....MAYBE :shakes head:

DIGItonium 04-25-2014 07:27 PM

As long as all the parts are in, assembled, and ready for a tune, no need to rush. This is where you want to make sure the work is done well so you don't have to come back for minor stuff. The only thing I had to get done was re-torque the oil lines. It's good to get those lines checked on your next oil change.

MidnightBlueZ 04-25-2014 08:15 PM

Well I hope you get her back soon man! DIGI is right though.. The minor stuff can be headaches :/

m3chhawk 04-25-2014 09:16 PM

Look at it this way... Your time from parts arrival to finished product is well ahead of schedule for something like this. Hell for a GTM product it might be Guinness Book of World Records worthy. Seriously check into that..

It was December 9th when I called Sam to make the change to the 1.5 SC, so about 5 1/2 months. I've heard of others who waited much longer, I guess I'm lucky in that respect. But I will reserve judgement until I get home from Tampa with out a rod shooting through the hood or something similar.

There could be one Z in a lot of 1000 that is a turd and I will unknowingly point at it and say 'That's the one I want'. It's not just with cars....it seems like my whole life.

elperuano 04-25-2014 09:29 PM

Just imagine how happy n satisfied you would have been if GTM was professional about it and you received everything in a decent time. Its ashame that you're robbed of half ur joy because everything "finally" (even tho in ur case its still not ready) ready.

Good luck buddy! At least you'll be boosted! Depending which way you drive back I'd love to see the best in person!

Infidel 04-26-2014 07:59 AM

One of the many things that has me pissed is that the cool air is almost gone. Originally the MHI kit was suppossed to be out be late summer and I'd have all winter (FL winters are weak) to rip around in the cool air. It's summer now...I feel robbed.:shakes head:

COSMO 04-29-2014 08:18 AM

I hear your getting tuned today!!!

Think about it this way- even in summer, it'll be much, much faster than it was when it was NA. So you'll get to play with it that way all summer. Then, when it cools down in the fall, it'll get even faster.

Will be glad to get some numbers, however, any excitement is overshadowed by my wife's surgery. She's in pre-op right now. Will post them when I get them.

Will need some tires soon. Considering Michelin PSS. Looks like I will only be able to buy the rears for now. Install has tapped me out. :shakes head:

Eight months ago I would have been fine for all four. Thanks GTM :nutswinger:

COSMO 04-29-2014 10:05 AM

Sorry to hear about your wife's surgery, keep your head up buddy..

(any excitement is overshadowed by my wife's surgery)

Infidel 04-29-2014 12:55 PM

She's out of surgery. Doc said everything went great. Will be staying the night so this will probably delay me getting the car by a day. I've waited this long.:tiphat:

Infidel 04-29-2014 04:01 PM

Bobby doing pulls as of now.:ughdance:

COSMO 04-29-2014 04:14 PM

How much boost will you be running? I want to guess on what your final numbers will be...

JWillis72 04-29-2014 04:16 PM

Glad to see it's all working out for you and more importantly that your wife is doing well!

COSMO 04-29-2014 04:31 PM

I wouldn't expect too high of whp or tq numbers with this sc kit so don't be disappointed. The thing is it will be a lot easier and safer on the stock motor ..

Infidel 04-29-2014 04:48 PM

I'm so pissed right now I can't see straight. I purchased and paid for a 1.5 SC kit from Sam. I explicitly advised Sam to include the 88mm/11 lb pulley multiple times. VSR is getting only 408 hp at less than 9 lbs. Bobby stated that the instructions only said "stage 1". If this is true then Sam is a f@cing crook !!! Bobby texted Sam and CC'd me. I can't wait to hear what he says. I will be calling Sam SOON.

I can't take too much more of this.:shakes head:

Sorry buddy. You should know whether it's a STG 1.5 vs 1 based on the air filter location and the motor mount, right? The pulley is at least a fairly easily correctable issue.
