It's more than I'm comfortable with, but there are plenty of guys running that with no issues. And saying you're looking forward to him blowing a motor is just being a ****.

Cool. I'll PM you if it happens. I'd bake you a batch of cookies too but my maid only cleans.

In any case I was at the shop every day and about 6 people showed up with the same kit. They've all had it for years, one guy has had it for over 3 years running 100 octane making over 600 to the wheels. no problems.

So unless you want to put your tinfoil hat on and say all of these people were plants, then I'd say it's a solid and proven kit.

That's just my opinion though. Like I said... I'll PM you and even include one of those cool dancing emoticons with it.

Most the time it's that wtq that blows motors. I'm opposed to pushing a motor to it's limits everyday for the sake of a dyno number. Safe and reliable all day, plus you'll sleep better.

S&R Performance single turbo kit?

Adobe, can't wait to see your kit, hopefully I'll get a chance if we get some meets going in Tampa.

Totally agree. But to date no one running this setup on a stock block has blown their motor, and alot of them are putting up higher numbers than me.

There was a case where a turbo went bad, but it was replaced at no cost to the owner. Out of a total of over 90 kits, It seems the batting average is pretty decent.

I don't want to come off as "My kit won't break I believe!", so I'm just sticking to numbers. The VQ can run up to 700 safely, and my tune is well below that thresh hold.

:icon18: Hahahaha... Ok. Where is proof of this??? Cuz Id love to see it! And everyone else. You can't just throw out numbers with ZERO data to back it up.

I never said one thing about the turbo kit. It's the motor.

Well.. if its e85 that number is pretty close. FI has Faceglides ride on e85 making 630+

This is still a long way off from 700 and who says that even at 630 its "SAFE". The only way to back up any number with the word safe or reliable in it is to pound on it for several months or years. At 700 and driving it hard I highly doubt this would constitute a safe motor.

Faceglide has been on his 630 for a whole 3 weeks? Yes, it may hold for years..BUT..there is zero proof of this at this point and wont be for many, many months.

Coming from the 35DE world we all know anything past 425 is borrowed time. We had seen many engines let go around that number and above. Do you think the internals on the 37vhr are so much better that you can push 700? Yes the motor has improvements but not any where near that much.

TopgunZ 03-14-2014 02:38 PM

Sorry to thread jack. But dont throw out ignorant claims and dumb up the community.

Here is a common picture of the rods.

Can this engine last above 600whp, yes but probably not long. If you want any use of long time VHR engine look at Phunk. Runs the greddy TT kit close to if not at 600whp on a stock engine and has been going for a long while (think he is past 60k miles with boost).

I have seen a stock block z motor blow with a GTM stage 1 TT kit making 500whp this was a friends car I have some pictures of it. Sharpcoop's stock block almost blew at 590whp when he tore down his engine before he built it a bent rod was found. I would not feel safe running a stock block z at 600whp it's on borrowed time. If you are then run E85 or 100 octane at a minimum.
