I'm excited about the car going back in to the shop now for some additional upgrades courtesy of the knolwledge gleaned from this thread. Looking now for even more performance / numbers when it's done. Wasn't aware of the list that you were referring to ... If I need to sign up for anything please let me know ! Bob |
I forgot the link in my post about the 'list' of finished builds: http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...ed-builds.html
Looking forward to seeing your upgrades and new number. |

May I ask as to the specifics of the impeller upgrade ??? My kit has the Vortech V3 and so far I haven't been able to nail down the right impeller. Contacted 928motorsports and also Vortech ... Need to know the directional airflow CW or CCW ... Still waiting to hear from Vortech... The car is just about to go into the shop... Thanks, Bob |
Great read! I really like the Stillen kit also, I remember RCZ had it and was running very nice during the CV2 shoot.

Based on the the piping is it almost has to be CCW unless yours and mine are different. |
All the stillen kits are CCW. CW is reverse scroll housings only.

Was pretty sure that it was CCW but needed it confirmed. Stillen had sent me the link to 928motorsports when I asked about the impeller upgrade- But 928motorsports is a Porsche site and they didn't have or needed the specifics for the Z. The cost for the impeller and SC'r rebuild through them will be close to $900. They have about a 1 week turnaround from the time they receive the SC'r till the time it is shipped back. The speed shop (Broadway-Performance) that is doing the work here is in contact with them - and will determine the feasibility of sending it out to them or doing the upgrade in house. Hoping for 50+ whp gain with the Stillen 9lb pulley and impeller upgrade. Still have't heard from Vortech ... gotta try again Bob |

Also curious about what kind of HP are you looking for? |

That's up to the shop and their workload if they will be doing a dyno before the upgrades. It's a small but friendly shop and they do have a lot of cars currently in progress. The dyno takes up a full bay...they have to move cars around to set up to do the dyno...soooo if I don't hit dyno day before they start to dig in to it - it probably won't get done. Now about those HP expectations...They have the final say as to how far they will to go with it. The Standing Order of the Day is to keep the car safe and reliable...in spite of what I say I think I want ! The guys in the shop are really good about that...And they've talked me down from the clouds a few times. (No  You can't put a (crashed) GTR motor in it and make it AWD for a hundred dollars) That keeps me as a satisfied customer. So far we are shooting for about 475rwhp. We'll see how close it actually comes to that ... and at what rpm it makes power. But the bigger picture here is not all about the numbers, but how fast it goes down the track...and there are a lot of other factors involved to make it all come together. Will keep you posted ... Sorry I haven't posted here in a bit. Wasn't really interested in some of the bashing, those of you whom didn't do that I thank you.
Update: Afterworking with Stillen, (Dave!! thank you!!) and Lamb Nissan, we found out and figured out why the AFR was all over the place, they forgot to install part of the air deflector for the intake. Once that was put on, the car started to drive 100% better, and now the tunes are getting better and better. As far as the people who say the kit is junk, or not worth it. To each their own. For my driving style, and end goal this kit is perfect. The car has 4k miles on it before I got the kit, now has 6k (lots of 3rd gear pulls.. lol) And yes the warranty option with the purchase did help me sway my choice. If you want to get totally balls deep into a 370z build, then pull your engine, and go to town with a twin turbo and lots of tuning time. If you want long term support, and a safer build with consistent power and less worries, the Super Charger hands down is the way to go. I've had nothing but fun with it, and have not one second guessing of buying the kit. - Tim |

Did you dyno the car to see what you were getting out of it? |

Just to follow up on the hood, it has helped with oil temps a bunch. This morning it was cool here for Florida (in the 60s) and I got on the interstate with the oil temp at 180 where it normally is and drove 30-40 min when I got off the interstate the oil was around 165. I have never seen the oil temp drop while driving 80 mph before today. You can also see the heat coming out of the vents at a stop light, it looks like heat coming off a hot road in the middle of summer.
Hopefully the Aquamist meth injection system will be one the car next week and I will be done worrying about heat. Fingers crossed! |
I am a big fan of the Stillen SC and just got one for my G37. Great thread!

2013 370z Nismo with Stillen Supercharger
Hey Guys, wanted to post an update. So since the install we had a slight issue, that has finally been resolved. I had a trip planned to California and ended up visiting the Stillen shop. I need to highly mention this, GREAT customer service! My Z is now running the 9lb pulley, and still currently doing some fine tuning. Will be upgrading the exhaust and crank pulley within the next week. Over all I've been overly pleased and impressed with the performance and power gains and with what this kit has provided :-)
Dyno numbers will come soon as once I get the last few kinks out of my tune. (Sucks living in Prescott Valley and being up 5100 feet) |
I hear you man, it's better here at 3,500ft, but it's still not the same as under 2000ft or near sea level. I maybe headed your way the first of next month. It's my turn in the hopper for jury duty there at Federal District Court. Maybe we can meet up.
|
So your running the 9LB pulley and the Impeller? Good luck with that, :/
|
Yo Hotrodz, if you come up lemme know. I typically have Wed\Thur's off work :-D
Should be getting my new exhaust (Went with Stillen's Cat back) and the Crank Pulley from them, plan to have it installed this coming up Thursday :-D (P.s. If you run this kit at sea level.. say around.. Costa Mesa. 54ft. (wink) um.. gfg =D Need tires.. badly...) |
The changed the trial venue to Phoenix :icon14:
|
Well that doesn't help us showing off each others cars! =P
