I just had my Tial bypass valve installed today, and miraculously my boost has returned! The Tial unit also sounds much better than the Turbosmart. My shop recommended this unit, as they use it on some of their 1000hp+ cars. The picture I included is the Turbo Smart unit. Do you notice the scouring that's going on in there? It will now be my favorite paper weight:)

I am assuming it is not a bolt on install? maybe different size? how about a video of how the new one sounds like? and what exactly did you pick up? and spring?

Thanks!

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my new Tial unit before the bumper went on, but it looks just like the one pictured here. I wasn't sure how well it was going to work, but so far it seems that it was money well spent. The installer said he now remembers how much of a pain in the *** my bumper was to take off with both engine and Trans cooler stuffed under it! My welds are much cleaner than in this picture btw.

No, had to be welded on. You read my mind, I'll get video this weekend

Quick video of how the new Tial with the 2psi (supercharger specific) spring sounds. It sounds similar to the old Turbosmart, but much cleaner. The main thing is boost is where it should be now.

May will be 2 years since I've installed the stage 2 kit. I'm running the Turbosmart blow off valve and I'm not having any issues, however, the BOV is 90 degrees, facing the front passenger tire.

Maybe my unit was defective? All I know is my boost issue is gone and the car feels fun to drive again. Turbosmart does recommend cleaning the bpv every six months. I don't believe in skimping out on maintenance, but I'm all in for something that makes it easier. Off subject Staples, how often do you change your Green filter? I've been sticking to every other oil change.

Unless you're continually driving through a construction zone, every other oil change isn't needed. I haven't replaced or cleaned mine in two years, but it does get checked every time I'm under the car, it's fine.

I guess I have maybe 5 or 6,000 boosted miles on the car in two years. I did read online about every 6 month intervals in cleaning the BOV. That's not feasible when we have to remove the bumper. If I run into issues, I will be switching to the Tial option and ditching the Turbosmart.

I'm glad you were able to get your car situated though! Do you have a boost gauge by any chance or did you notice lack of power from the @$$ Dyno? :)

I first had issues with the Turbosmart about a year ago. I noticed I could only hit about 2lbs of boost at 7000rpms. I took the bumper cleaned and oiled the bpv and boost was there again. Recently I noticed my boost gauge was reading 4 lbs at 6500 rpms when it usually would read 9-10 at this point. With the new Tial my boost is hitting 10-11 lbs again. My car's rear end is more squirrelly when stomping the gas, confirming my power is back. My car has now been supercharged for 3 years and 30k miles. I feel that I have just hit the refinement stage of getting everything where I want it to be.

That's good to hear, man. I had to pick up a new set of stickier tires to keep the power on the ground myself. I love how discreet this kit is, especially when sneaking up on someone and unleashing hell. Their facial expression is priceless.

What tires did you go with Staples?

What do you guys have your spring tension set at? All the way dialed hard, soft, or in the middle? Turbosmart says the valve should be closed at idle, yet mine's not. I think I'd have preferred the Tial unit as well..

Sorry for the delayed response. I went with Michelin Pilot Super Sports 245/40/19 and 285/35/19.

The valve should be dialed all the way to the hardest setting.

I need to make sure to adjust mine too and I need to recirculate it got pulled over for the bpv need it to be quiet. Where did you install sensor for boost? I need to install mine soon
