Well, I ordered it last week so I will let you all know how it fits. The only other member I know that has it said it fit great, no issues.

Edit: member Mann has the hood....

No. I saw the pic off his car, but I never had the funds to do it, nor do I know of a shop who could do it. Aero Jacket did the mod. I do remember it being your design, which is by far the best.

1slow370 11-27-2013 01:36 AM

something about the center vent on the duraflex hood makes me throw up a little, also something about the side vents too, possibly that the side vents have an awkward tapered shape that doesn't match **** on the car, or that there are two small but conspicuous ovals cut into an up-sloped back face of what should be a large cutout.

wheee! 11-27-2013 07:35 AM

I think it flows nice with the car. Each to their own I guess.

I know 2theextreme had this hood years ago and had issues, fitment was solid but after a few months the center started to cave downward and hit the strut bar.
Overall he liked it, minus the dip in the middle, he later solid it for a Varis hood.

Good to know. Mann has mentioned that there has been some sagging as well, so maybe I can fab some support in there before I mount it to prevent that from happening. Fitment was reported as solid so, that is good. I am curious to know how effective the venting will be. It looks well placed and subtle enough to do the job yet still look stealthy.

as for Varis.... :yum:

JWillis72 11-27-2013 10:09 AM

Has anyone seen the Carbon Creations Hot Wheels hood installed on a car in person? I think I have decided to order that one because it looks like the one that will vent the most heat.

If I do the Hot Wheels hood I will do it in CF.

Sh0velMan 11-27-2013 12:16 PM

All I'm saying is, for this price, I probably have to have one, even tho it weighs more than stock.

By the time you make it fit right, its probably not much cheaper than the alternatives.

Well, the other people in here that have it say the fitment was spot on.

Any aftermarket hood needs fitting, so I don't really see the difference.

Also, I may just drill holes, mount the bitch and go, because racecar.

martin82 11-27-2013 12:21 PM

same hood but in CF....

I plan on painting mine Black Rose and gloss Black for the centre section. Leaving the vents body colour (Black Rose). Should keep the subtle lines of the vents from 'popping' too much.

The Varis is SOOOO expensive and shipping/wait times are crazy... but yes, it is a thing of beauty....

That is a great price for the hood. And yes, if it fails in a few years, I can afford to replace it later with a different hood etc.

Fitment has been reported as good to perfect from all known users. Quality of construction might be lower due to reports of sagging, but that can be remedied too.

That's the correct attitude for this hood....

Just added the middle vents for more relief. Nothing special. But function over form for a DIY. http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...ps896jypcx.jpg

No that's the stock hood with the carbon signal hood vent inserts molded in.

I'm still partial to that single hood vent on the seibon but I want to see it in person on a car before I pull the trigger.

Are there caps you can put on those vents? If it were to rain, you'd be dumping water straight into the engine bay wouldn't you?

I like the look though. Subtle enough.

What are we talking price-wise?

I'm interested but I'd definitely want black plastic(?) plugs or something in case of downpour. Put me down as someone who'd want one.

I would be interested. Though who is going to be making it? Will it be a factory hood mod?

I'm interested too. Is it a whole hood replacement or a mod? I'm not worried about rain.
