ride home was fantastic! After passing the 60 miles break in point before going into boost, I stepped on it a bit more. Car pulls freaking awesome. Checked the car over again for leaks and looks good.

One question though, I have 88mm pulley on 93 octane and did not hit more than 6-7 lbs of boost. I didnt really go the redline yet so I cant really tell what my max boost is. Will WOT pull in 3 rd gear all the way to redline give me max boost?

1slow370 08-25-2013 11:00 PM

u might have loosened up a coupler its always a good idea to recheck them after driving it for a while. if it isn't a connection problem have them check to see if the blow off valve is leaking when you get it tuned.

fryzia23 08-25-2013 11:05 PM

Can the bpv be adjusted to keep more pressure? I know there's a setting to make it stronger or weaker but I didn't adjust anything

1slow370 08-25-2013 11:14 PM

the setting allows you to adjust the pressure difference that operates the valve. when the throttle is opened the pressure in the pipe and manifold equalizes and the valve shuts no matter the setting (unless something is really wrong). it isn't a wastegate so it doesn't control pressure it simply dumps it whenever the manifold pressure is something like 7psi lower than the pressure in the pipe. for more info on it reference the pokeyl thread missing boost(it's also very rare but if you have the same issue with temps he does maybe it's an issue with the compressor? just another thing to check i guess)

Edit: i said to have them check the valve because if you got dirt or something in it and it scuffed the bore it bit maybe its sticking but if youre building boost at all it should be closed. most likely a coupler moved or loosened up on you.

With this kit you won't hit mx boost till 7k.

No the bov can be adjusted for throttle response but it won't make any more boost, boost is preset by the pulley size.

Thats what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure.
You were right, I went closer to redline about 6300rpm and saw 9lbs so boost its definitely threre. Backed off after because it gets scary when not use to that kinda of power.

Lol, my Wife drove mine for 5 mins and said it was docile! Man up!

fryzia23 08-26-2013 10:42 AM

should last me for awhile I hope

it was a long *** week to put this kit together. So far very happy with the product and cant wait to drive it more and more. As always there were some hiccups but GTM stepped up to the plate and handled it very good.

Does the BPV suppose to flutter at very low throttle when just trying to keep same speed?

well, mostly... I updated my own journal (click build thread in sig). I'm happy with my decision on going GTM and this kit.

I want to hear OP's car :D

Went to NY city tonight and recorded some shitty videos of few short accelerations. Dont pay attention to the video, its all about the sound. It doesnt do the justice but you can get an idea of the sound. Driving at night with all the buildings and tunnels surrounded, it makes it at least twice as loud:tup:

PS I feel bad for people who drive next to me with their windows down because when you downshift with SRM this thing is loud! Im sure i scared the crap of some people:roflpuke2:

Will try to do some drive by videos this weekend.

sounds great!!! Congrats:tup:

SS_Firehawk 08-28-2013 09:26 PM

Speaking of SRM, that's one thing I noticed, especially with a light weight flywheel, it was super aggressive, it kept scaring my Wife, but I was loving it. I love the sound of the BPV.

Thanks man! Ive never seen or drove in 370z with either supercharger or TT setup until now so would love to see your car too. I'm few miles away from GWB of off rt 80.
On September 22nd meadowlands nissan in Hasbrouck Heights NJ is having ZDAY at their dealership. I'm planning to attend so it would be good time to meet up and maybe get more 370z owners to attend as well. :)

Thanks! It's a 88 mm pulley and the max boost it shows is 10 psi. Last pull I saw was 514whp not sure about tq though

Baer383 09-30-2013 02:44 PM

Very good numbers, when you get a good tune you will get numbers like that.

fryzia23 09-30-2013 02:47 PM

Thanks Baer! Still yet to see the final numbers

Torque is the number you want , the highest and flattest curve.:driving:

SS_Firehawk 09-30-2013 04:39 PM

This turning out to be really really good.

fryzia23 09-30-2013 04:58 PM

Final numbers 513whp 387wtq
One pull prior the final print out, the graph showed 516whp
I was told it could get more out of this setup but I leave that for some other time.

:driving:

snowsurfdirtx 09-30-2013 05:54 PM

Awesome man. Good stuff. Sent ya a PM
