With the newfuel pump harness should we run these right to the pump and disregard factory wiring for power and ground, or shoud they be spliced into the harness top side? This is pretty much all I have left, PCMshould be back tomorrow, it will be go time!

You can splice to run the power to the pump. The short small gauge wire that will be used will not have an impact on voltage drop.

Pink is the top side 12v correct? and I assume te green goes to black? I should have looked when it was apart, sorry!

Dude I'm jealous that you are this close to firing her up! I'm still five weeks away from tear down.

Oh and I hope this whole fuel pump wiring discussion makes more sense when I'm physically holding it in my hand.

I didn't like doing the fuel pump to be honest everything else is cake for me.

When it comes to wiring I'm one level above Forrest Gump. I'm fine if you tell me exactly what to do but if I have to track down where to tie-in or worse pick wire gauge size or fuse size, I'm toast.

nice haha, I have wire millions of car stereos so the physical wiring is not an issue, I just like to be certain before I start cutting. You doing a self install jwick? Ive never been to Houston...and I have an old college buddy that just moved there.:icon18:

I just looked at the GTM harness wiring for their harness, the red goes to pink to the pump and the other wire, green would go to the car side pink, is this correct?

Rid3_FaM0uS 03-06-2014 07:32 PM

Joe I have pictures of how I wired mine do you have an email? Or I could throw them on my albums I suppose if that works better?

Rid3_FaM0uS 03-06-2014 07:40 PM

Pics are up in my albums joe! Hopefully it helps you out man good luck with the rest of your install! ^.^

Joepro 03-06-2014 07:43 PM

TY! I got the pump itself done, I just need to know how the upgraded harness is to be wired in, the GTM does one wire to the pink wire(12v) to the pump an the other wire back to the relay hooks into the pink wire that originally went to the pump, just wanted to make sure it is the same.

Rid3_FaM0uS 03-06-2014 08:20 PM

Oh oh my bad man haha I thought you were looking to wire up the pump itself yes I do believe that they are the same wire Red on the fuel pump is the 12v and I think the system pretty much follows suit as to not confuse the installer haha

Joepro 03-06-2014 08:25 PM

like this, without all the crappy paintshopping!

Doing the install myself. Of course with some help from my friends. Hopefully we'll have the fuel pump harness sorted by April when I start my build :icon17:

Joepro 03-06-2014 08:32 PM

I assume that is the way it should be logically, to trigger the relay to power the pump, but again I like to be sure is all :)
