I have really enjoyed watching all the boosted builds over the past two years. and I have enjoyed the heck out of my car, but in the end I needed a little more power, a back seat, and more power...

So, here he is, after adding a supercharger I went from 350hp to 662hp.

COSMO 12-20-2012 01:29 PM

Iam new here so congrats on the new ride...

Jasonle 12-20-2012 01:44 PM

elperuano 12-20-2012 01:53 PM

Sh0velMan 12-20-2012 02:05 PM

That's a bone stock 2013 Shelby Cobra guys... it comes with that much horsepower.. lol.

Grats on the badass ride!

GaleForce 12-20-2012 02:13 PM

FairladyZ 12-20-2012 02:40 PM

Ridiculous power stock

m4a1mustang 12-20-2012 02:41 PM

Sick ride. Congrats.

elperuano 12-20-2012 02:45 PM

So he didnt add a supercharger? Sure is deceiving the way he wrote it. Starts 308hp then adds supercharger n it's over 600 but what he really did was just buy a Shelby stang?

I would image the 308 was his Z and then he sold it and bought a Shelby with over 600 so he "added" a supercharger.

elperuano 12-20-2012 02:50 PM

Lol....

There are pictures attached to the post. If you can't see them then I understand why you're confused. :icon17:

elperuano 12-20-2012 02:59 PM

I see the stang but he said he "added" a supercharger. He bought a bone stock cobra. Just weird way of wording I guess.. Stang looks good.

G37Sam 12-20-2012 03:38 PM

Regardless of how it was added that thing is a monster!

Well, he was just joking. :icon17:

Flyboy 12-20-2012 04:17 PM

Sorry guys. Play on words. Technically I did add a supercharger. It just happened to come with a 2013 cobra.

Torq is 620.

elperuano 12-20-2012 04:33 PM

Awesome machine, must be a blast to drive. How's the traction on it?

Cold out spin spin spin. Warm out... HANG ON!!

as I say that, I'm looking at some 315s to run on the back. Too much spin for me.

Mr.Squeeze 12-20-2012 05:30 PM

Congrats on the beast man

Z-Girl 12 12-20-2012 05:35 PM

That would be the ONLY way I'd go American. I love the look and good grief the hp is insane. WOW is all I have left!

SPOHN 12-20-2012 07:40 PM

Nice Rustang. Cough cough. Mustang

Red__Zed 12-20-2012 07:53 PM

blueranger 12-24-2012 09:00 PM

That is crazy power right out of the box

Congrats... Enjoy but most importantly be smart and safe! Dont let the Cobra bite you :icon17:

This is so true. I think motor trend ran an article on, "The 10 cars that want to kill you" and the 2013 GT500 was one of them...

elperuano 12-26-2012 10:04 AM

Lol, the Stangs r like pigs on skates. Traction n suspension is scary, but on the flip side it makes for a great drift car!

Traction wasn't really an issue with the Z, but getting passed by a station wagon with a Turbo was...

This really makes no sense. The current S197 chassis is very well balanced and handles great.

All relative bro.

I've personally ridden (and turned down offers to drive) in S197's around the track and while they seem to be balanced alright after several thousand in suspension mods, it's a whole different ballgame than your average sports car.

To someone experienced in driving BMW, Porsche, Japanese etc, a Mustang WOULD feel like a pig on skates, as it takes a different driving style entirely to make them move.

Not better or worse, just different.

:)

m4a1mustang 12-28-2012 11:16 AM

Trust me, I totally understand the difference in feel. Might feel that way to some, but it's not actually behaving that way. ;)

When I hop back and forth between my S2K and 5.0 there's quite an initial shock. :icon17:

I love the bump-n-slide of the solid rear. As a passenger anyway.

Kiss the apex, slide to the outside a few inches. Every turn. Hahaha

Truth is truth. I can see from ur SN why u would try to defend it. The "bite" that is referred to the Stang is cuz the feel of it is entirely different as opposed to tuner cars and most end up spinning out a lot.
But as I said, on the flip side to an experienced Stang driver n professional drifter they seem to be awesome for drifting!

Sorry, but my SN has nothing to do with the car.

They are fun to drive.

There definitely is a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to IRS vs. SRA. Stealing a quote from Billy Johnson (Roush racing driver, s2ki.com poster):

Quote:

It's been said that the recent 'purist' viewpoint/train of thought has shifted the generally accepted consensus that IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) is superior to stick-axles when it is not necessarily true. While the camber gain and bumpsteer of IRS can edge out a stick-axle in peak mid-corner grip, it can become a disadvantage on entry and especially exit of corners. "The fastest accelerating cars in the world have stick-axles". By maintaining an even rear platform, stick-axles have inherent advantages that at the end of the day, can be as good if not better than an IRS. In many cases its harder to make an IRS work better than a stick-axle, pending rules of the series, which stick-axle design you are looking at, etc... But at the end of the day, in CTSCC, a ~stock geometry Mustang out handles and comes out of corners better than the E92 M3 but currently due to rules, the M3 outbrakes and has more power to out accelerate the Mustang on the top end.
Day in day out, do I prefer IRS? Sure. But I'm not going to write off SRA completely like many misinformed folks tend to. It helps actually having experience with the good ones!

Need to see the dyno sheet to prove the assumed 662 hp :D

If its a home stock Shelby then I think it's BHP and not WHP

edub370 12-29-2012 04:39 PM

I'm gonna pistol whip the next person that says cobra. "cobra" hasn't existed since 04 guys... Which, btw, is my absolute favorite stang
