My FI Build List

So I made a FI Build List for myself and though I'd share :ugh2:
I also see people say with supporting mods so this could help clear up what those are too.

GTM Stg 2 Turbo Pkg: The Works
Besides the normal things like fluids, gaskets, and tuning
Includes:
HKS Plugs Heat Range 8
600CC Injectors
Walbro 255lph In Tank Fuel Pump
34 Row Oil Cooler
OS Giken Twin Plate Clutch W/ Damper
Slave Cylinder Upgrade
3" Downpipes w/ TiAL waste gates recirc
3" Cat Back
BLITZ SBC i-D III Boost Controller
GTM-AFR/Boost/Oil Pressure Guages

Extras:
Steel Braided Brake Line
Steel Braided Clutch Line
*Fast Intention HFCats 300 Cell Metallic
NISMO Limited Slip Differential
*HF Cats could be in the package imo but it isn't listed.

Optional:
HKS CAMP2
HKS TURBO TIMER TYPE-1
CSF radiator
Oil catch can
Fuel surge tank

The package alone is 19k including installation. The Extras will put it at around 21-22k differentials are expensive.

I HIGHLY recommend adding a radiator upgrade as well. GTM has one they sell, and of course CSF. Expensive list you have there. GTM is taking my car away in the morning in a transport truck. My Wife thought me retarded when I asked her to video tape it's departure. :)

elperuano 12-03-2012 04:45 PM

I have almost everything on ur list, except I'm about 5k under ur price. None of the extra or optional stuff. But overall that's a big list!

Firehawk:
CSF? Can't think of what that is.
I would go for the radiator if I saw/heard people having engine temp issues. And I don't expect to be putting the engine under high loads for enough time that the coolant would get heat soaked.
I don't think your crazy, it will be awhile till you see it again.

elperuano:
I rounded up on a few things and the kit alone installed is 19k. I don't have the means or skill to do it myself.

-----
Forgot 2 things on the optional:
Oil catch can
Fuel surge tank

if you want traction and useable gearing your final drive choice is going in the wrong direction, you want a taller gear not shorter. if you're going to change it get an auto 3.3 or a 350z 3.5

I'd recommend the CSF radiator as well.

SPOHN 12-03-2012 05:14 PM

I'd go with a OS Giken LSD instead and as stated above different final gear.

Two for the radiator upgrade, I guess I should consider it.
Removed the final drive yeah was silly now that I think of it.

Only reason I chose that LSD it is an actual nismo part. Or else I'd go was a torsen one over a clutch type, they sound like something broken. I don't believe the torsen type makes that noise.

CSF a must. GTM makes a bigger one though.

elperuano 12-03-2012 05:34 PM

I gotta look into the csf, I don't have one and I haven't had any problems yet. The catch can I'm looking into cuz sometimes I get blow by oil smokin out the back. Wish someone made em for the g37 but seems it'll have to be a custom set up as well

leighspped 12-03-2012 05:43 PM

my plan is plx in the default gauge location

a quaife will serve you will, its a helical type LSD (same style as Torsen, uses gears)

Turbo timer your listed won't work with push button start cars to my knowledge. If you really want one there is a company that makes them for the GTR and should fit our cars as well. My plan is just to leave the car running a few minutes before shut down if I had recently been in boost

king12sky 12-03-2012 10:05 PM

CSF and OS Geiken for LSD.. honestly you cant go wrong with OS Geiken, they are quieter and PROVEN!

Take the Fast Intentions cats off your list you wont need them with the 3 inch down pipes, down pipes replace your cats.

Are you positive it won't work? I have an extra Apex'i one that i wanted to put on my Z when i get it. If anyone could PM me with the answer to this I would appreciate it. Sorry to thread jack OP. Nice list. Some of the parts you mentioned is not needed and it will lower the cost greatly. Should be a very fun setup
