2013 SC Nismo stage 1.5 GTM
Some of you know I had a 2010 sport/touring with this kit on it,it ended up making 470rwhp 342rwtq but after 6 months of fun my 7at gave way so I put it back to stock and traded it in for 2013 Nismo then proceeded to put my GTM stage 1.5 on my new car for Z Nationals which I finished it enough to drive it there but my tune wasn't done.
Fast forward to today I finish my tune and brought it to Jon @ Z1 Motorsports for some dyno time first pull was 483rwhp 355rwtq Jon said the tune good but it kept leaning out on the very top end,so Jon played around with it for awhile and I asked him to play with the VVEL he said my ROM won't allow it so a few hours later. No VVEL No Methanol 73deg sunny day it ended up at 516rwhp 383rwtq I also talked to Sam @ GTM today and he was happy for me but not surprised about the numbers he said with the tune on the money numbers like this should be there,so here is the dyno sheet. http://www.the370z.com/members/baer3...td-numbers.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/baer3...7-img-0405.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/baer3...6-img-0404.jpg |

It is the same when Uprev first allowed tuning on the Z, it took awhile for all the ECU to be unlocked. |

Congrats on the numbers. How well did you do on the trade-in?

Thats a great trade in! I only got 26.5K for mine which was an 09 touring sport with navi, it also had 14K miles on it though.

Can the stock clutch hold that? I plan on getting the Stage 1.5 for my Nismo as well this winter.

There are a few guys that have done 450+HP with stock clutch and lasted 10-15k miles and then replaced it because it started to slip. |

Also depends on how much torque you're pushing out, will hold the horsepower fine but the torque is what will kill it. You supercharger guys should be fine.

Baer, who did you buy the GTM Stage 1.5 SC from? Directly from Sam @ GTM?
Did you get the turn key or the tuner? How much was it? Thanks! |

How do you get the initial tune? Send your ECU off to them? Or download it via the web and use the uprev cable to push it in?
|
how is the performance coming from a regular Z vs the NISMO? Worth the difference in price?

I should have bought the Nismo back in 2010:tup: |
Very nice, this is probably the best power curve I've seen from any of the GTM stages. Very nice indeed. What are you running on the exhaust side?

I see, are you running the stock cats?

I am on the GTM Stage 1 SC kit (419 WHP / 350 WTQ 8PSI) and roll on the stock clutch. I have 18k miles and no slip yet. First, I do not launch my NISMO because that’s a silly move. There is no traction, a lot of wheel hop, which results in an easy waste of over $1k of rubber quickly. From a roll, I have been known to redline 2nd, 3rd, and 4th often. I would not say I do this daily, but at least weekly. Mine is a DD. That being said, I have set aside enough funds for a replacement clutch, flywheel, master cylinder, and CSC because I know at some point in time, the stock setup will fail. Quote:

Yeah I am still on OEM cats, had one replaced recently under warranty because it "failed." ;)
I want to invest in a set of RTP so open it up a little but control the sound, heard TP & my exhaust and it gets a little raspy. |

I've put a good amount of miles on my resonated test pipes and they are holding up fine.
Are you sure he wasn't talking about high flow cats? I know with cats you run the risk of clogging / blowing out the comb because of the ridiculously hot temperatures they reach. Beautiful setup, great numbers. |

Baer, did you have Z1 do your install of the GTM kit? I'm in NC and looking for someone close to do the Stage 1 or 1.5 on my NISMO.
