.065 wall 304ss, moving quick, and dipping that .045 rod like a mad man. The welder is an Everlast 200dx. I will look in to helium. I use .065 filler on aluminium.

aluminum looks good buddy! try running the cfm on the argon down a bit and run the amperage up a bit more. seems like the cleansing area is way too much. stop wasting that argon! when you do try helium, lmk how you like it!

I noticed it was a bit better with less argon too. Thanks for all the tips, somethimes it is the very small things that make the biggest difference. I really did not have anbody to learn this stuff from to be honest. I went to school for electronics, not welding :icon17: This is something that I picked up a while back, and find that practice makes perfect. Really like to buils stuff, and regret for not going in to mechanical Eng. instead of electronics Eng.

Ah well, at least I am still doing what I like.

Thats funny because I have a degree in mechanical engineering and work on computers and simulations all day. I think the degree just teaches you how to use your mind

Well, I am getting there..it is 10:40pm and I just got in from the garage, after an eight hour work day.

On the bright side, things are looking up. I was able to build a complete new set of intercooler pipes today, so that almost completes the second kit that I am keeping here to build jigs off of. The oil pan spacer is in as well, so that took a bit of time as I took a lot of pictures for the install instructions, while making small mental notes.

I also discovered that the first pipe on the hot side (attaches to the compressor outlet) will be very easy to install as it can be pushed through from under the passenger side header. I mentioned earlier that this pipe will be a PITA to install with the oil filter plate in place...this is no longer the case. IC piping should take about 30min to install with this kit.

The exhaust stuff will also be rather quick, as it will simply bolt up to the OEM headers, and then the turbo goes on via 4 bolts...again very simple. Down pipe will be two V-bands, no rocket science there.

I have to make a pit stop tomorrow and get two -8an 45* fittings for the oil cooler lines. I had picked up a bunch of 90* fittings, but a couple of 45's are better suited here. The oil feed to the turbo will be taken off of the OEM oil pressure sensor, and it gets a bit busy there, so the 45's will divert a couple of the big lines. I hope to get all the oil lines done tomorrow, get the FMIC mounted for good, and have it ready for the bumper to go back on.

After that is all done I will focus on recirculating the wastegates. This should not be too bad at all. Then I will move on to the fuel pump and injectors, so half day for that.

Too tired to load pictures this evening...will post them up tomorrow.

Dedication to quality and the ease of install for the customer! Awesome !! http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0030.gif

Sasha,

Not sure if you mentioned it (my apologies if I missed it) but how long do you think this install would take?
-If one had access to a hoist and had basic wrenching abilities..

Thanks,
R

It all depends, some people take their time and others just want to get it done. I think if one takes time to do the install, an easy weekend would do it.

Some of the stuff will be preassembled as well. The new filter relocation will come bolted up already, so two bolt on the car and you are done. Same goes for the oil cooler, two screws and it is done. Scavenge pump will come bolted to it's mounting bracket as well, so two more bolts and it is installed. I lik to pre-assemble a lot of stuff, and label it all very well. All the fittings will have teflon tape on already also, and some will be already in place (oil relocation, scavenge pump..ect.)

Excellent! I was hoping you would say a weekend.
-I await completion, with eager anticipation!

Thanks Sasha,
