Ram Air

Has anyone tried the ram air, by removing the fang plates(pros -cons)

Ram air for what? You can remove the fang plates but then you need to direct the air somewhere for it to do anything.

There is a mod for that on this forum.

Its gotta make some difference if done right. I think the intakes would have to be insulated from the engine heat to tho. I think itll work only because it would lower intake temps but i can see it being too signifgant as in power wise. i COULD BE WRONG THO

this has been brought up before. i think someone was testing the gen 3 stillen with and without a front bumper. they had fans blowing on the filters in one test. the outcome wasnt a huge increase in power. actually i think there were issues with turbulence.

our factory intake system isnt that bad to begin with.

your better off making duct work for the brakes. there is very lil to gain by home depot-ing your front end.... :\

How about a front splinter made from garden liner?

Didn't think ram air was good enough for my Mustang, definitely won't do it to my Z. Save your $ for some real intakes. The cost for MAF tubes and drop ins will probably be marginally more than a ram air diy.
