Launching from a dig

Okay turbo guys, what have people experimented with and find best to work when launching the car from zero (on the street). What rpms ? Letting off the clutch ? Etc. I know the best way to figure it out is to get out an experiment but I would like to see what seems to be working best for other FI guys out there. Also if anyone's has any experimenting with the Mickey Thompson et 2 or any other radials so far ?

You answered your own question. Your best bet is to try it out on your car because everyones car is different and so is their driving style. Try launching at different rpms and see where you hook the best. Lower the PSI in your tires so you can hook in correlation to what you launch at. THe MT ET streets are damn good DR's for the streets. I'm getting those for my next tires thats for sure

Just a word of advice if you have never been shown how to properly drag launch a car, but make sure you load up the drive train. Dont just drop the clutch, no beuno, will greatly increase the chance of breaking stuff, binding up all the bushing torqueing the piss out of the motor/trans mounts. But at the same time loading up the drive train reduces the life span of your clutch, but better to destroy that than most anything else. Either way you got the pay to play if you going to launch your car.

Me personally I have never launched my Z, I care about it too much to do that. I will roll into throttle from first and go to the top and land on 2nd like a fat girl falling off a bike with speed wobbles though. Nothing harder on the car than launching from a dig.
