Ron's "Finally my own TT build thread" Thread

...

Project White ... Eagle

Pioneer – The word itself conjures thoughts of everything from heroic settlers blazing trails into the unknown to brilliant engineers on the... Ooops, no.. wrong build thread! :icon17: lol jk Sam & Mike

Aaanyway..Super excited to finally be typing this. For as long as I remember I've wanted to modify a car beyond the basic bolt ons and never got the chance to do so because of time or resources. Before getting the Z I have now I already had my mind set on going FI. I've spent the last few months asking members questions, talking to vendors and gathering parts.

I've been contemplating the idea of doing the install myself, as you can see on my journal I try to DIY as much as I can. It's heaps of fun, it teaches you a lot about your car and it gives you the peace of mind that someone is not half a$$ing the project... Unfortunately, I don't think I have the time to tackle this. So I am talking to shops right now about pricing, time frame and pretty much getting to know who I will be trusting my car to.

Anyway, last night I talked to Sam and the kit is supposed to be shipped Friday. I still have a couple of misc items I need to get and stuff to do/organize before the car goes under the knife. I will keep you guys updated as things move along.

My main goal on this build is not chasing a number, I am after doing things right the first time.

Now the parts list:

-GTM Stage 2 Turn-key Kit with GTX2863R turbos
-TiAL Q BOV's, relocated
-GTM 3" Downpipes w/ 38mm TiAL external Wastegates (0.4bar spring) Open dumps
-Fast Intentions 3'' TDX Catback Exhaust
-GTM ECU Flash with Uprev Tuner license
-Bosch EV14 650cc/min Injectors
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump
-GTM Fuel pump voltage stabilizer kit
-HKS spark plugs
-GTM 34R oil cooler with thermostatic plate.
-Southbend TZR SS clutch Replaced with Southbend 6 puck
-ZSpeed Metal CSC
-Southbend Steel Flywheel Too loud and I'm too anal, kept stock one
-GTM Windshield washer reservoir
-STRI Boost, Oil press and Oil temp gauges Replaced by custom digital gauges
-Innovate MTX-L AFR gauge
-HKS EVC 6 Boost Controller (New Gen)
-Redline MT-85 Trans Oil
-Redline 75W90 Diff Oil
-Redline 5W30 Engine Oil
-Redline PS fluid
-Castrol SRF clutch/brake fluid
-DEI fire wrap
-Polydyn high temp ceramic coatings (downpipes, exhaust manifold and turbo exhaust housings)

I should be getting some vacuum hose, the DEI fire wrap, Z1 silicone and fluids this week. As soon as the kit arrives I will be taking the exhaust parts for coating. Once they are back and I figure something out for transport to get me to work, the car will be going to the shop... Stay tuned and wish me luck! :D

Sounds sick Ron. I've been following your mods for a while and have modeled my car after yours, I would love to see the finished product once it's done. Congrats on the build

Very nice build! Similar to what I am getting ready to undertake. Sub'd for sure.

How hard was swapping the triple meter gauge? Did you do it yourself? I have seen the various other threads and can't decide if I want to undertake the replacement.

Oh yes Ron. Always a little late but better than nothing.

Gauges are not mounted yet, that was just a "lets see how they look" test. You can actually see the cables dangling. I'll let you guys know how it goes. From what I've heard... it's a PITA!
