Actually, BOVs are almost always post-MAF on stock turbo cars, but the metering issue is remedied by the return air line that runs from BOV back to the intake. Since most aftermarket kits use VTA BOVs, you see a lot of backfires during shifting since the metered air gets blown off during the shift, which makes for a temporary rich condition, and thus the backfire. This has nothing to do with your tune.

Not talking about "stock" systems, aftermarket systems... and yes, letting off the gas abruptly while in boost will create that situation. I was trying to make that sound!

bovs are mounted before the Maf so the air being dumped is metered.

Looking good bro! And I agree with you about getting 98's "champ" back online. If you have a plan, let me know how I can help!

Thanks man! Hopefully Nissan will hook 98 up w/ a new motor, that's the biggest issue for him. I know there are good shops in his area but he's always welcome to come to Texas, we have a few great VQ shops out here as well. I'd be interested to see if he has had a compression check done..... sounds like bearing or rod damage from his descriptions though! We will know more by the end of this month hopefully.

I appreciate it, fellas! I never did a compression test. I didn't think there's a point since I know it's blown. Now if I can't get help with the motor, there will be a teardown to determine what happened.

Regarding shops, I know there are plenty of good ones around. After my dealings with Z1 during my ZDayz fiasco, they earned a customer for life.

Can't go wrong w/ Z1, I've been a customer of theirs for many years. Actually looking at taking the Z to their ZDay Event this year. Best of luck man!

I think Z1 is a very good choice.............

We have a RHD option for our TT kit and have had good results in Australia...GReddy is not your only option. ;)

Cheers guys, was aware GTM did a turbo kit for RHD :) they are my first choice so far! Won't be doing anything for a while but just keeping the options open.
