Best so far with ambient air temp at 112 is 381.5 / 331.9
I think we have one more tune for the money. EDIT I will have to get the base numbers but HP was ~267 not sure on TQ. |

Updated with Dyno Picture and Video
I want to thank Sam at GTM as well as Kenny, Ty, and Tony at Jotech Motorsports for all of the time they devoted today on my tune. It was pretty much an all day affair and I was ringing Sam before he probably even sat down and thought about coffee this morning. Thanks again to everyone for putting in the time today on my ride. I appreciate the fact that both Sam and Kenny wanted to ensure I had a good, safe tune.
It was another record breaking day in the DFW area today with 107 degrees. Inside the dyno area it was well over 110. I am happy with the results. I think I will see about breaking 400 when outside temperatures are more reasonable. Here is the video of the final dyno run. This was my first time with video so be nice LOL Jotech Motorsports: 2011 Nissan 370Z NISMO GTM Stage 1 SC Dyno - YouTube Not sure why part of the base dyno is missing but you can see the before and after. http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...to11Medium.jpg |

I cannot get motivated to cut a duct on the NISMO bumper but I may have no choice. |
Cool congrats on the install and the numbers!

The greddy one might work, have not seen anyone order it yet outside of the TT kit.
I might pick that one up if it does not sit lower than the stock oil pan. |
The fan is a good idea:

Wonder if a push/pull setup would work... I have it.... on my CPU cooler haha

I completely agree on the fan. I am having one ordered AND I will probably do the Greddy pan. It has cooling fins on it. It appears to be available outside of the kit. My hope is both lower my oil temps to an acceptable level.
I will update when I have more details on what worked. |

I am new to the fourm,I have a 2010 z roadster sp and touring with stillin true duel and injen long tubs hearerd and kinect hf cats and oil cooler .
Ijust orderd gtm sc I am not a kid I do drive responsably except for wanting to have something under the hood thats awsome. My concern is the ford dealership is installing the sc , they have done toyota and ford sc Do they need to put my z on the dyno if I purchase the complet tuner , will going back to stock ecu and then using sc tune be ok? I don`t want to blow the engine . I hope someone can understant what I am saying ha ha Mike |

Take it to a shop that specialize in Nissan man. |

Agree with this .... You need to do some more researh on the turn key SC kit you have purchased. Your HFC's will not last long with the SC so get some test pipes. Not sure your oil cooler will work since the GTM kit relocates the filter. Expect a day or more for dyno tuning. Sam will get you started on a base tune but you will need several dyno pulls to get the tune right. Good luck .... |
The only other option I would see and probably not do-able due to the front mount is air ducts like the HKS oil cooler. I expected the front bumper to have no airflow besides the front due to increase in downforce.
|
It's good to see a local GTM SC kit. I would like to see it some time.... I seriously considered going this route with my G37, but in the end I decided to go with an Audi S4 instead.

Ok, I am curious about this. I noticed that the twin turbo guys just have the oil coolers sit right behind the intercooler. They are not having any temperature issues but they do use 34row. What is the reason behind relocating the oil cooler for the supercharger setup?
|
I think it has more to do with the limited air flow with the NISMO bumper than the size of the oil cooler. I also think the heat wave over where I live in Texas plays a part in my high oil temps.
EDIT And to answer your question about location, I think GTM located the Rotrex cooler and the oil cooler there as it was the best location that had empty space. Here is a shot of the bumper cut out and all you see is IC. http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...r/IMG_3825.jpg Here is a shot of the driver side of the bumper where the Rotrex and oil cooler reside. They are effectively to the right of the IC in in a pocket of the bumper with little to no airflow. http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...to_1Medium.jpg I am going to add the SPAL fan and temperature controller and see what better temps I can obtain. http://www.the370z.com/members/zat_z...cooler-fan.jpg In addition I am probably going to order the Greddy turbo cast aluminum oil pan to see if it fits with the NISMO under tray. It has cooling fins and adds extra oil capacity. I just do not know if it will fit without cutting up something. I don't know yet. You can see the pan at the bottom of this photo. That is not my car but another forum member's I believe who had the Greddy turbo kit installed. http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...t-14Medium.jpg |
I can't see very clearly on my phone. Is that aluminum thingy the oil pan?
When I installed my oil pan spacer I did not had to cut anything however you will need to bend the undertray frame a little to bolt up the spacer bolt. After everything is on we just bend it back in. This link might help a little. http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...-spacer-2.html |

To the OP my suggestion would be to first open up the fender line to allow the hot air to exit, and better yet would be to duct air from the bottom of the car up with a small spoiler, and again a cut out in the fender line to allow the air to flow that direction. Similar to what the Corvette, Trans Am, or other cars with no grill opening use to direct air to their radiators. |
Did you stick with the factory spark plugs, or go a step colder?

so the greddy oil pan provides very good cooling... good to know!

My plan this weekend is to vent the fender lining. I will post up pictures and a DIY if it turns out nice. With the vent and the Greddy pan, I am not sure I will need the SPAL fan. I am hovering at 220-230 just going down the DNT and down 190 to 75. If get into boost, I can easily get to 240-250. I think I will start with the vent and the pan before adding the fan. Further driving impression with the boost So far the SC is great. I found a decent stretch of vacant road yesterday at lunch and went sideways on the 1-2 shift with VDC off. It was awesome but I was glad I had 3 empty lanes to recover LOL. |
How does the car drive with the oil cooler?

When I leave work at 3p and it is 105+ outside, I warm up to 230 just getting to the Dallas North Toll Way. Once I am on the Toll and speed up to 75-80 the oil warms up to 240-250. Granted a little over 250 is the highest I have seen but this is on an 18 mile commute on primarily the expressway home. I know a lot of this is due to the irregular heat in DFW this year. We have broken all kinds of heat related records. The other day it was only 102 and the oil temps topped out at 230 in the heat of the day. So I know there is a correlation with the ambient heat and the oil temps. I also think the lack or air flow to that side of the NISMO bumper is a factor. I just got word from Kenny that my Greddy oil pan has already shipped. I hope that addition in conjunction with the vented fender liner will quell my high oil temps. I am hesitant to really test out the SC until I get these temperatures sorted. Not sure about the SPAL fan just yet. The pan and vent maybe enough. Have to wait and see. However, I am happy with the fit, finish, and performance of the Stage 1 kit even with the heat. I wish the oil cooler worked better out of the box but it is what it is. I live in a hot area and the bumper limits air flow to the cooler. What else can I say? I have not really gotten to test the car fully, but I like what I have experienced so far. I still need to tweak some things like fabricate something for the windshield washer reservoir and vent the driver side fender lining, but I am happy so far with the kit. |
Just cut a big hole in the black part under the bumper cover on the side of the oil cooler, and direct the air from under the car up to the oil cooler.

I say try the Greddy pan before cutting holes on the car, even if they are not visible. If it doesn't provide enough cooling then add the fan and vent the fender liner. That's what I would do.
|
Happy to see you have good throttle response with all this heat (air and oil). My car, in stock form, lag quite a bit with the high temps.
|

One thing i did think of, you may double check the oil line routing. If these got reversed on accident, it will cause the oil temps to be higher than normal. The oil filter doesn't like to flow oil backwards for some reason. Kind of a long shot, but I've seen it done once before. |
So hows the performance compare to your Z before the S/C?

I have now had the car a week with a good tune and as of today got almost 17 MPG. Normal driving is a drastic difference because there is a huge amount of power and torque available. The rush of air you here is sweet. I turned of VDC and went sideways during a 1-2 shift one day this week. If you ask me, it is the way the car should have come from Nissan. I have not gotten to fully thrash the car and won’t until I solve my oil temp issues but so far the car rocks. The few really hard accelerations were impressive and definitely put a smile on my face. |
Where are you planning on getting the louvered section?

MPG. I was getting 28.9. I am raelly shocked about those numbers. I was getting worse before around 19 now 28.9 really shocking. Sam also talk about running dual oil cooler that could help alot. That is my plan if the 34 row doesnt fit and also with the CSF radiator. |
Are you reading your mpg off of the gauge? If so that is not accurate anymore since you upgraded injectors
|

I am doing the mileage by trip odometer / gallons when getting fuel. |
