I'm also wondering why there are no threads on this. But I'm guessing the traction issue is one of the main problems.

Zrod 03-30-2011 09:14 AM

Only one I remb seeing was a TT around 12.2. Im pretty sure he had major traction issues especially considering jnaut ran about the same time N/A.

Edit: This one too http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...p-finally.html

Blue370tt 03-30-2011 10:15 AM

Most of us are waiting for temps to get up a little. FI gives you NO grip during winter on any tire.

I will be hitting the strip in the next 60 days and expect to be in the mid to low 11s. Wish me luck.

BLM 03-30-2011 10:19 AM

Any estimates on how the manual tranny's will hold up to a hard launch with aftermarket clutch assuming you hook up?

The 6mt will hold up just fine it's the axles you have to worry about.

BLM 03-30-2011 11:04 AM

I've never been much into drag racing. Nice to know the actual gears can take the heavier torque load though.

issforged 03-30-2011 11:07 AM

No prob. I think once the weather starts warming up, we might see some more FI Z's hitting the strip.

I wanna hit the drag strip again to try to beat my time. That gets in the way of me trying to save money though :p

Yeah, I'm questioning going Thursday... It's 120 mile round trip, which is almost $30 in gas and another $20 to run. Then if I go, do I run on street tires or bring the drag radials? Hmm...

dixon cider 04-03-2011 11:28 PM

I have been PM'd several times asking to post mine when I go. Why is it assumed that because I am going FI, that I will automatically be going to the track? So, just to stop the PM's, I WILL NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT be going to the track with my car.

That is all.........:ugh2:

That's weird. Why are people telling you that before you even have it installed on your car.

I'm assuming it's because most people (or at least a lot) go FI to improve track times. I could be wrong about this though.

I would guess the same. I am doing just for the pleasure of having something that looks good and is faster than stock.
