Given that 500whp has been shown to be reliable on street setups and our goal is 450whp with this kit, reliability shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the updates GTM.

So did stage 3 get cancelled, as you're using the C38-91 for the stage 2 now?
Or will you guys have another one up your sleeves?

NewYorkJon34 04-28-2011 08:36 PM

Well seeing as the c38-81 was intended for the stage 3, the stage 2 is going to be incredible with the c38-91.

I will be disapionted if it only makes 450 rwhp. When Sams stage 1 made almost 438 rwhp and the 91 flows 17 % more air.

Somehow I agree with you,

I don't really care if its 450whp or 500whp, I just need the god damn lame torque to be over 420wtq

For a supercharger on this car to have that much wtq you are going to need to be well over 500whp. There arent even many turbo guys with a 3.7 making that much wtq.

There's two different philosophies behind the two different stages. The stage 1 kit was intended for the ultimate performance enhancement without having to change anything on the car, meaning it will bolt up without any major modifications. As we all know, it is a very tight engine bay and putting the supercharger in the bottom was not the easiest way of doing things. It has been accomplished nonetheless and the kit is performing very well. So I wouldn't call that a compromise.

On the other hand, the stage 2 kit is going to be balls out and offer the best performance we can squeeze out of the c38-91 blower. With doing that, the stage 2 kit will be getting different motor mounts, different intake, intake piping, fuel system. It's designed for big power. I hope that makes sense.

Yep, this totally answers my questions, although now it changes my calculus a bit. Sounds like STG 2, with all its extras, will be quite a large price jump and quite a bit less stealth. I may have to manage with STG 1 and a mere ~400WHP. Hmmmm.

You could order the stage 2 now for $6500 on the GTM site, it's just not finished yet

From what I have seen, you will definitely be at 400whp if not more with the stage 1 kit. However, I haven't seen anyone playing with methanol injection i.e. Aquamist/Snow Performance which can also give you a significant bump in power and torque if tuned properly.

Here is some pics of the stage 2 set up

As for stealthiness the stage 2 will remain as stealthy as the stage 1 sense all the different components that differentiate the two system wont be visible. Price is a different story and like somebody mention here, you could take advantage of the current price on the web site before it goes up.

Direct port water injection is going to be the ticket on the stage 2 sc set up .

I see lots of RWHP. especially with that good cold canadian air that we have up here.
11.4's at the track in the 1/4 mile.
So Sam should you put that on my account now " direct port water injection "

Call me later tonight.
